NEW Wireless Charging Pad confirmed - in my 2026 R1T. Works amazingly better!

Is there a good use case for the small slit at the front of Rivian’s charging pad? For the life of me I could not find one beyond getting pens stuck before I ditched it and upgraded to the Soonish pad. It’s so much better and the larger cavity is actually useful.

It's for holding the splash sticks from Starbucks. Perfect fit.

Anyone create a service appointment to get a new charger? Did they just retrofit the old charger or give you the new one?

The salesman on my test drive last week told me about the MagSafe charger coming in new vehicles so mine would have one.

When I accepted delivery a couple days later, it did not have it. Because I had this in writing, they are retro fitting my R1 for free.

Worth mentioning, the sales salesman told me it would likely be around $100 upgrade.

Just picked up a R1S and it did have the new MagSafe version, this one was built march, seems like that might be the transition month.
