That’s what I figured. Why don’t the moderators screen them out as it affects future sales and Rivians reputation.
People who have issues are more vocal than those who don’t. Welcome to the internet. But unless you can prove someone is outright lying or a vast conspiracy of short sellers using bots why in the world would moderators censor that stuff in order to protect Rivians reputation or because of some theoretical potential impact on future sales. This isn’t the Soviet Union and this forum doesn’t exist to advance a corporate agenda for Rivian as a company. This is literally what every brand focused automotive forum looks like.
Mods censoring bad news is probably the whiniest most inane thing I’ve ever seen here. And Rivian owners can be quite whiney and inane…….

I think a lot of people who bought Rivians did so as their “dream car” or a big splurge purchase and it’s the first car at that price point. That leads to unrealistic expectations
I honestly think there is this kind of “Tesla panel gap” trend spreading across the EV market.

The most vocal issue people have heard about with Teslas for a long time is panel gap and build quality issues - this led to this trend of examining every panel gap with a micrometer and go over every single inch of the interior looking for build quality issues, first on Teslas, then on all EVs. Despite the fact that many of these folks have probably had multiple ICE vehicles with minor panel gap and build quality issues they had never noticed.

So this leads to buyers expecting absolute perfection from every Rivian (or other EV) that rolls off the factory floor (ignoring the realities of large scale auto manufacturing) and because they get used to frequent OTA software updates fixing issues and offering new features they find any tiny issue as a crime against humanity and end up holding EV makers to standards they’ve never held any other automaker to.

I’m not saying Rivians don’t have flaws and some owners haven’t had legitimate complaints - nor that service in general is an area where they have a lot of growing to do. I’ve just never encountered a group of any other automotive owners who will get completely bent out of shape because of some minor missing software functionality or, as I’ve seen many times, when FUD/bad info starts to spread and people jump on the bandwagon about how Rivian has totally failed as a company, etc. over something that actually isn’t an issue.

Some of the bashing, though presented in a farcical manner, is valid and something can be learned. See the nav system "is going to kill us, for profit" thread next to this one, in the busiest threads. That person's post is hilarious.

Can the nav system improve? Yes. Are AA or CP better? In some aspects. Is Rivian really trying to make dinero by placing owners in an unsafe situation? No.

But, here we are, all connected with the ability to post whatever is on our mind, as soon as we'd like.

I disagree. If folks continue to have bad experiences, I would like Rivian to address the issues so that customers stay and flock to the brand! Not move on…
I think that Rivian does fix the issues, some maybe ‘eventually’ ! Certainly in my case with one of the early models I had a few issues that did get fixed, and a couple I can live with as an early adopter. Even with these issues, it’s the best vehicle I’ve ever driven, and I’m old enough to have had a few ?. Yes, people must come to fora (plural of forum for pedants) for sharing problems, it’s the modern town hall.

I've been here for a couple years. The tenor has grown a bit more irritable about some of Rivian's lapses and delays perhaps, but overall still lots of love for the product and RJ's direction, despite the good faith criticisms -- and some criticism is definitely due.

If you read that someone has needed service 3 times for 3 different problems in one year, and each time it takes about 2 weeks to fix, do you read that as a negative statement, or a statement of fact?

And because of long service times, people are stuck dealing with their issues for extended times, often for months, not just a few days.

If you are looking for an echo chamber of good news on any forum, good luck.
I agree 100% having been shut down for venting on my first posts. How does anything get better if you can not voice your grievances. Ive had three issues in 3 months. Most people need help when things are bad not when everything is working. I appreciated your response.

Step 1: Do not revive super old threads.
Step 2: Do not name your posts with hyperbolic nonsense.
Step 3: write clearly, without unnecessary drama, about your issue.
Step 4: enjoy.

That's what all car forums are for. You know, either trying to get help with your car or to talk about your car. Yelling into the void is helpful for no-one. Especially yourself.

If you don't like your Rivian, fuckin sell it and move on
