Depends entirely on which AS tires. If you look at specs already released for Premium on the site, same range with factory AS. Pirelli Scorpion MS.

If you drive faster than test speed, then yes. But why would rivian release data for 85mph when other mfgs are using the same test metric presented here?

Rivian Uses a 5 Cycle Method (allowed) instead of a 2 Cycle Calculation Method. This gives them higher numbers. (Tesla and Lucid do this as well and is a well documented difference as the Consumer Reports chart highlights.) If this were a BMW or a Chevy etc. the EPA range would be:

• 21 inch wheels 306 miles
• 20 inch wheels 297 miles

I dropped the EPA reports posted by the OP into Gemini and asked it to recalculate based on the 2 cycle testing. Details are attached. (Highway range, fwiw is 288 / 274 using the 2 cycle method.)

IOW it is about the same as an AWD Blazer SS (302 miles) not far from teh Subaru Solterra (288) and about 100 EPA miles less than the iX3 when all of them are calculated using the same methodology.

Well, yeah. That happens with every vehicle ever, not just EVs. Can't beat the laws of physics.

All cars and trucks have their EPA ratings determined using a blend of city/highway driving at particular speeds. It's not just an EV thing.

Enduro doesn’t necessarily mean a specific motor? It could be name of a product line with more than one model/size? And IIRC RJ named it Maximus “drive unit” not “motor”; i.e. axle assembly of motor plus reduction gearbox and integrated inverter.

It looks like the total depleted in the EPA tests was 88.7kWh, so maybe a 6-8 mile buffer after zero?

4.62 mi/kWh around town and 3.89 mi/kWh on the highway when equipped with the 21" rims.

4.57 mi/kWh around town and 3.75 mi/kWh on the highway when equipped with the 20" AT rims and tires. 4% worse on the highway, and only about 1% worse around town.

Someone should check my math.

I don’t know the calculations but if you divide 335 by 88.7 you get around 3.75 miles/kWh. Yet both efficiency numbers you quote are above this for the 21” wheels. Wouldn’t you expect the efficiency in different cycles to bracket the overall efficiency?

I confirmed with Rivian that R2 will launch with the re-designed heat pump from the very beginning including Launch Edition.

This makes sense as they have had years to design this vehicle and the only hardware changes in the new year with be version 3 ADAS with Lidar and RAP1 chip.

Sorry I should have been more clear, I was referring to the more accurate 2 cycle test above compared to their numbers.
