Pre-Production Catalina Cove R2 in the wild (vs. my Rivian Blue R1T)

Next to my Rivian Blue R1T in Edwards CO.

The Catalina Cove is darker than I thought. The R2 is bigger than I imagined

Great photos, other photos have shown the color to be more vibrant. Looks like it may have been an overcast day.

If you have and R1T the seating room on the R2 is much larger. The room is similar to the R1S on the R2

That's exactly what I was thinking. I love my Storm Blue truck. Definitely Catalina Cove is the color I would go with on the R2.

The more I see the Catalina Cove, the less I like it. With the launch and forest green in the mix, I wish they just did Rivian Blue or Red Canyon as the other options. I'm sure Borealis R2 is left over paint from the R1 limited edition, but biased aside, I think the R2 would be quite the looker in red canyon and just wish they did that instead.

As of now though, given current options, I'm leaning forest green again when the configurator is up.

I agree, I have a Red Canyon R1 and it’s a great color. I need to see Catalina Cove in person because photos have shown multiple shades of color. Launch green is also an option, Forest Green seems too dark.
White looks surprisingly good.

Seems like when it's overcast it goes green and in brighter light it looks more blue at least in photos. Definitely something I want to understand better at one of the Spaces to see if it looks different in the real world versus the online photos.

I agree, I have a Red Canyon R1 and it’s a great color.

White looks surprisingly good.

I expect to be shopping in summer 2027 for MY28, would like to see Red Canyon added to the mix. If not or I don’t like it on R2, white is likely choice.

I took our much-loved Audi etron into the dealer for a software recall (no over the air updates) and received a Q5 ice as a loaner. Sizewise, I think it's a competitor for the R2 but what a buzzbox! I parked it and we're driving the R1T while we wait. And I was astonished to find the Q5 sticker showing 64K! Makes the R2 launch edition look like a real deal!
