I’m in the camp that I want maximum range and that looks and ride feel are irrelevantNormally that's true- but the case here is the 20's are all-terrain rubber compounds which matters (stickier/softer compounds, deeper and more complex tread blocks and more tread squirm, and stiffer sidewalls).
And while I don't know for certain, I would expect that the 20" AT's are also heavier wheels to handles off-road which equals more unsprang mass. Altogether though, a 7% difference is pretty good.
By the way, AT tires are not, by their primary nature, snow tires FWIW. And yes- as many in this thread have expressed and have done with their R1's you can replace the 20's with a number of all-season options. There is only ONE tire available for the 21's.
Have you had low-profile tires before (shorter sidewalls like the 21's)? If not-just be prepared to curb themI love the look, but invariably I find a curb within the first year
