I clicked the link in the email to cancel a demo drive and somehow in my stupidity canceled my reservation, which I've had for almost a year.

I am absolutely gutted.

I called Rivian support who told me basically there's nothing I can do.

Does anyone have any tips? Maybe a contact who might be able to help? Anything that anyone can think of? Feel free to private message me or something. I am freaking out right now.

Very sad to hear, hope you can work it out. But thanks for posting this, I will be exceedingly careful on this point!

If your reservation wasn't made during the first few days when ordering went live, you probably won't be too far behind anyway. Especially if you want a Launch. They'll only be doing the Launches for a few months - a new order today will still get a Launch before the Standard starts shipping, for example.

This is probably a "no", but what about someone transferring their reservation to you? Or work with someone who won't be able to take the vehicle (for whatever reason) to use their reservation slot?

Good luck, I hope you get it resolved in some manner. 🙏

I cancelled my reservation, on purpose, and there are many steps you have to go through to cancel. It’s not just hitting the cancel button. I did get an email after I cancelled but there was nothing there to confirm it.

If there is truly a email that has a cancel reservation one click in it without any other clicks that’s poor design on Rivians part

This. Also the conversion rate of reservations will be lower than most think.

If Rivian can ramp up production like they say, I wouldn't worry too much.

On the bright side... interest rates are still shit if you were to finance purchase. And you get to avoid any yet-to-be-known early production jitters. And you benefit from all of fixes/iterations for issues discovered by all those ahead of you.

100% agree. Can't get standard version until 2027, people are going to bail. Honestly a $46K pre RWD Y is already available, call it 47K with a year of FSD. I'll demo drive an R2 when they're available, but probably cancelling my 2 reservations and replacing vehicles with Y and EV9.

Like others have said, if you want the launch edition, I think you will be fine. A year ago was already over a year after reservations opened, so you were already pretty far back.

Loads of people put down $100 right away because they were excited about a cheaper Rivian, but they're not gonna jump at the launch edition. I'm sure there are also plenty of people like me that reserved day 1 but aren't in a huge rush to get one. I reserved my R2 the second reservations opened and ordered my R1T the same week because I didn't want to wait. I'll be one of the first in line to be invited to order, but i'm in no rush and will wait till at least the fall for the lidar and coastal cloud interior.
