Yup, they advised for the R1's not tinting the roof. We did the windows and it is plenty cool in the cabin. If you toucht the glass it gets hot, but I sometimes wonder if the people complaining about the heat from it have their heads pushed up against it. We are in VA summers here where it often gets in the 100's.The problem is that ceramic film absorbs all that heat. It doesn't reflect it or something. So it will heat up the glass MUCH more than it normally would, and lots of people have cracked or shattered their roof glass this way.
So probably a bad idea. Either use an external PPF, which will need to be replaced frequently, or a fabric shade.
I'm sure an aftermarket shade will be out in just a month or two.

The discussion about the roof tint reminds me of people loosing their minds when Disneyworld put in the skyliner gondolas and they didn't have air conditioners in them and everyone thought that the tint would not be effective enough to keep people cool. I just don't understand people sometimes...
