Hey i am working on something here and curious to find anyone who officially paid the $100 to reserve and R2, but then canceled this year due to the inability to buy one at $45k. Anyone? PM me please!

I put $100 down on one the minute pre-orders opened. I'm not likely to convert it now but I haven't officially cancelled it as of yet. Not really sure what you're getting at but I'd certainly reconsider for free.

Inflation is still ripping, if anyone thinks that's not a thing - or that manufacturers who are losing money will introduce their least profitable trims first - they're drinking something I'd like to have.

Maybe that's what you're cooking up? Special potions?

PS when I learned R2 wouldn't have the light interior, or the much-hyped RAP1 and LiDAR, until much later I picked up a CPO Audi e-tron GT instead. Also don't trust Rivian's initial build quality given R1 experiences and the fact that Rivian has zero experience with megacasting so I'm waiting until they find the microcracks from tens of thousands of miles of use across tens of thousands of vehicles and develop a second gen cast for larger parts.

I'm cancelling both my reservations and buying a Y and a Kia to replace vehicles, but more about no availability and price than just price alone. Even the Y is 4-5 weeks out.

I bet Rivian is well aware and doesn't need to be told 2nd or third hand. They'll see it in the numbers for themselves and as long as they sell all the 2026's why would it matter if someone else buys it instead of me.

FWIW, Even test drives aren't available in any of the Altanta area SC. Realistically it's a car so not worth worrying about.

Yes and range. Not sure yet. Will hold R1 for now. iX3, EX60 are top contenders. Patience is rewarded at the moment. And not like you lose anything by cancelling reservation. Within a couple months Rivian will have more cars than buyers just like everyone else.

Why is this thread partially hidden? There's so much weirdness in how this forum is moderated.

I've got a friend who decided to cancel for a list of reasons, price was one of them. It was an overall value proposition; what do you get for your money, what capabilities you get/lose with each brand, etc.

I cancelled but not for price. I actually will end up purchasing a vehicle more expensive than the R2. I cancelled for reliability issues and preceived value

What reliability issues? There are zero reports off “issues” since deliveries started just a few days ago….you cancelled because of your perception….not reality

Didn’t know I hurt your feelings by cancelling.

Rivian has reliability issues with the R1. The R2 is too early to tell. Same reason I would be very hesitant to buy an EX60 because of the EX90
