Esker Silver R2 finally marketed by Rivian! Hi-res official images (Updated With More)

My hunch is Rivian is saving "red" or maybe another bold color for the R2X/RAD version of the R2. Doubt it will be Red Canyon as the take rate on that for the R1 was low.

I'm starting to think Esker Silver is low-key the best color choice. Not just because of the cost, but because it has more visual depth than the other options. From a marketing standpoint, instead of Esker Silver, I would've called this color "Mercury."

Quicksilver (alt)! That is a good choice.

I'll go with Esker Silver. I already made the decision prior to this thread. My current truck is silver, and I wanted the same color again, plus there's no up price.

Did anyone already see an actual customer R2 in silver (not those Rivian photos) in real (on the road)?

I'm calling BS on the 1980 photo. I'm old and was just beginning to drive then. There was a lot of brown vehicles the. When I say a lot. I mean A LOT!

That "1980" photo is definitely not from the US

Apparently Esker Silver has a bit of a delay to getting one. Interestingly, LA Silver for the R1 is also delayed.

I was told by Rivian that there was an issue with getting the metal flake to appear correctly, but it's also likely that up-charged paints are higher priority too.

Just economics. Ship higher priced higher revenue orders first, delay lower margin orders.

And yet, coastal cloud also delayed availability. Along with multiple >$1000 paint options. And afaik no one has received a build with a spare yet.

Not EVERY availability delay is to maximize sale price.

I understand your point but launch green and Catalina Cove are $2000 and 70%+ of people have ordered those two colors so it is not a cost issue. As with R1 black is just very unpopular and they should get rid of it and add red, yellow or something else.

I remember hearing RJ doesn't like black cars either but Rivian sells just enough of them that he can't get rid of it.

It wouldn't surprise me if LA Silver is discontinued and Esker Silver makes its way to the R1.
