Thanks - joined the Discord and saw the comment from Lukas. Hopefully my order is in this batch! The mount kit is on its way from China, Comma 4 is somewhere around the house, just waiting on the harness.

Judging by Lukas' comment, this next batch sounded like it was big enough to fulfill all the orders. I could be wrong, but it sure sounded that way.

I am excited to get it so I can set it up, but I am wondering if there have been any updates with adventurepilot and angle based steering or what’s the best setup right now for angle based (is it xnor branch still?)

Got the kit today! Will install after tomorrow's Rivian Service Center Vist to resolve "more" condensation coming into driver's side floorboard after they replaced corroded Refrigerant Line some 90 days ago...

Just got my kit today and hooked everything up. The comma 4 comes up and I got SunnyPilot installed, but everytime I try to do anything I get an error that it disconnected from the can bus and says it is potentially a bad cable. I've checked everything several times, rebooted the vehicle, and even disconnected and reconnected the cable plugging into the AXM (what a pain) but nothing seems to help.

For what it's worth, I also tried a different regular USB cable. The regular USB cable turns the comma on, but it is clearly different from an OBD-C cable because the Comma never even tries to connect to the AXM. Basically, the Comma powers but it does nothing.

Anyone have ideas on how to debug?

I didn't post on discord, but I did email Lukas but (only a couple hours ago) haven't gotten a response yet. I also ordered (from Comma) a long ODB-c cable to try it. My current thinking is that it is either a cable problem or a problem with the Luka harness.

You don't need a cable from Comma. A simple usbc 3.1 cable from Amazon will do the trick.

Update From New England: Have not been able to install Extreme Dev Kit as of yet... turns out after 128,000 miles the HVAC system is leaking too much condensation into the driver's floor board & Tarkus "failed" a water leak test they performed last Wed during a diagnostic visit & needs to be replaced this coming Thru-Fri (for $4,300). The good news is CarShield is covering the replacement as they did when the refrigerant line corroded back in Feb & was replaced in March for $1,000 over in Rochester, NY. I'm working in Ohio now... Turns out the Cleveland, OH Svc Center has two more Rivians ahead of me with the same issue before they can do Tarkus... Keep Ya Posted...

I installed my extreme dev kit on Wednesday and am having a hell of a time figuring out the branches, what is where and what to actually run. I installed Sunnypilot and found the longitudinal controls but never seemed able to unlock angle based steering. And the longitudinal control didn’t seem right. My truck would stop 40 feet behind the car in front and stay way back on the freeway. Even with the most aggressive driving mode engaged.
I discovered adventure pilot is a Rivian specific fork of sunnypilot so I wiped and installed that this morning. I still can’t find anything from
Uncle Tony and longitudinal control seems to be locked out.
I read Gerry’s guide to install and setup. I feel like I’m fairly technologically capable but this is making me feel like an idiot haha. What am I doing wrong?

The only two that have angle steering currently for Rivian are the xnor-tech/rx or rx-dev and the adventurepilotdev/stg-a (stg-a is not updated to Lukas' latest so take that with caution for now)

Do either, or both, do longitudinal?

If I had the knowledge I would do it, but it would be awesome to see someone put together a list of models, their capabilities, URL’s and some of the available forks in each. Maybe it’s less complicated than it seems but it seems endless the paths you can take.

You are not alone. There is definitely a little bit of a learning curve, but this will help. You have to install uncle Tony’s adventure pilot stg-a branch for angle base driving. do a reset and Type this URL into your comma for custom branch installation.

And then when you wanna activate longitudinal control, pair the sunnylink app on your phone with the comma, select your device, and go to developer options tab. You must then activate longitudinal control, and then restart the comma. Angle based steering is already active as a default in this branch and there is no way to change it.

Once you restart after activating longitudinal, go back into the SunnyLink app on your phone, you will then see a bunch of other options now appear, including things like experimental control, dynamic, experimental control, smart features, such as using the map and vision data for changing dynamics, rivian resume.

I hope this helps! You’re gonna be a pro in no time. There’s just a little bit of a learning curve initially.

By the way, in my experience, I would recommend using the default driving model on the adventure pilot which is called cd210. The other models which I do like such as dark souls and tomb, raider do not seem to have the ability to turn the wheel as confidently taking into account, the abilities of the angle based steering. Perhaps they will catch up one day….
