Not sure where in the world you're seeing a $45k 2023 R1T Quad that is still under warranty. They're minimum $60k and more like $65k currently.
They were going for $45-50k a few months ago, but I haven’t looked since then. I was considering selling mine decided against it because that’s what the prices were.

Also, why is everyone saying that a 2023 is out of warranty? It’s 5 years on everything except the 12v system, basically, and 8 on the HV battery. You’d still have 1.5-2 years of warranty left. Buy it, take in in for an inspection with Rivian, and they’ll replace anything that needs fixing. Lots of us have done that and got the suspension fixed.

I don't see that happening, they're forecasting producing low to mid 20k units for this first year. The reservation holders will easily snap up all of this production.
I don’t think the demand for launch/performance R2 spec is as high or strong as people think. I think it’s just too expensive.

Where? There's 20ish on CarMax rn and the lowest is $61k. I agree $45k is a deal.
Lexington, KY. The dealer had it at 45k. Only EV on the lot, and they didn't know anything about it. Came in on trade-in two days earlier. Fwiw, there were two more '23 quads within a 2yr drive range of me at around $46k ask at the time. I know the market is a bit higher now, but if you watch the market daily, these deals are still out there.

Apologies for the thread derail. I don't see why that R2 would bring much more than its current auction price. The wait from Rivian isn't long, and w/Cars and Bids, you have that 5% add'l charge, plus the cost to transport the vehicle or drive to it and get it back.

Demand does not need to be very high, they are not making that many this year, or next year comparably speaking. They will sell all that they can make with a decent ASP as they bridge the gap to the other versions. It is the demand for those versions that will tell the story trying to bridge the gap to the R3 and global markets.

No worries at all - I was interested bc at $45k I'd buy :like:

$45k is a great deal, but alas that is not the case anymore. $60k is the floor, I'm guessing bc of gas prices. I forgot warranty is 5 years not 4 years on the original R1T Quad, bc it's 4 years on every other car they've made except that one trim. And that would assume a somewhat low mileage used one also so you don't eclipse the mileage warranty limit either. New R1 quads are only 4 year warranty now too.

I'm addicted to browsing Doug DeMuro's car auction website Cars & Bids and just came across this R2 Launch Edition in Catalina Cove that just came up for auction: https://carsandbids.com/auctions/3BmOVdd4/2027-rivian-r2-performance-awd

NOTE: This is not my R2 and I don't know the owner. I am still patiently waiting for my invite to order.
There are a few flippers with listings, but not many. I suspect people recall the recent bad financial choices others made when buying an overpriced Cybertruck. CARS.COM currently has two R2s listed, $77.4K & $79.5K for those two. I've also seen Craigslist ads offering to transfer their early reservation, but those are probably scammers.

When I read this post, I was surprised that I missed the R2 listing, as I scour Cars and Bids every morning, mostly for overpriced Porsches that I cannot afford. So, I quickly clicked on the link and audibly laughed as I noticed that 2 of the 3 bids were made by MrRivian. :CWL::CWL::CWL:

Oh dang, I didn’t realize it was down to 4 years on new ones. That’s solid, but that 5th year makes a big difference. I didn’t realize prices had jumped back up so much!
