Must be the same shipment as mine. I was told rail delays, original was 7/15, bumped to 7/19, today was bumped to 7/21.

Their communication during the process has been pretty good. I think the SC arrival dates I’ve been given though are best guess.

Delivery delayed by a few days - was supposed to arrive today at the SC but now is supposed to arrive Wednesday. So instead of a Monday pick up I tentatively have a Friday pickup.

All these posts of scheduling a date and then getting a delay is making me nervous. I live 5.5 hours from the service center so I planned to book a one way flight and fly in, pick up the car, and road trip it home. How do I confidently buy a flight if there's a decent change they delay delivery at the last minute.

I picked up my Half Moon Gray 21 R2 on Tuesday in PA. I also had a delivery delay. I was originally scheduled to pick up on 7/10 but it was delayed until 7/14. It was described to me as a "in transit" train delay. I've had the car for 3 days now and absolutely loving it. A few minor issues; spare tire I ordered was not in vehicle when I picked it up. Its being delivered and installed by Rivian mobile service next week. I also had an odd software issue where my garage ev wall charger was not being picked up by the vehicle. It was showing no voltage detected. I knew it was not the charger since it charges our other vehicles no issue. After talking with support and rebooting it seems to have resolved.

My R2 was delivered to the Caledonia, MI Service Center Sunday 7/12, and they initially scheduled delivery for Tuesday 7/21. Since it's 160 miles away from my home, and I am not trading in, I need a ride to the SC. My son was driving past there today on a business trip, so when they contacted me over a week ago telling me the R2 was coming in over the weekend I asked for delivery for today (7/17). As of Monday, when I completed all my online documentation work, including wire transfer, they said they would try to get it ready by Friday but could not promise it due to work backlog. Even if they are very busy, 4-5 days to get PDI done seemed very doable to me - I've ordered several cars over the years and have never experienced delivery occurring more than a couple of days after vehicle arrival at a dealer.

Late Wednesday afternoon I got an email that the initial Tuesday default appointment has been canceled, followed by a text from the delivery team in Caledonia that "to make sure they have plenty of time to complete final delivery inspections they need to reschedule my delivery appointment".

Currently I do not have an updated delivery date.

I understand that they are busy, but the R2 is a very important vehicle for the company, and they need to get these on the road to keep buyer interest growing. Sitting at the SC for a week or two prior to delivery is ridiculous.

When I got my R1 in March 2022 there was 4 days between completing the paperwork and flatbed delivery to my driveway (220 miles from the SC). Obviously volume has ramped up a lot since then, but one would expect that delivery processes would have gotten a bit more refined over several years.

In the grand scheme of things this is a trivial issue, but for me it is an annoyance, largely due to getting to a distant SC. At well into their fifth year of delivering vehicles Rivian should be doing a better job than this.

Just heard from local SC my R2 is on a train and headed here. Still no scheduled date but they said between next week and 1st week of August.

My delivery wasn’t scheduled until the car was at the SC and completely done with the pre-delivery inspection, which seems like the safer way to do it but maybe busier SCs need to schedule further in advance.

On that note I’m picking up VIN 218x (LG/21) on Monday!

…this update was according to an “internal delivery guide lead” person I was able to text ( Info in my most recent prepare for delivery email).
Was nice to be able to get some intel!

I emailed the delivery team yesterday and was told my R2 (VIN 2468) headed to Central TX was still at the plant waiting for a train. They said 2-4 weeks, which is still in line with the 4-8 week window from my original order.
Even though he's in CA, I'm hoping the fact Eric9610's car is on the move means Rivian loaded up a train and more are on the way. Maybe one rail car in that batch will split off in St Louis and come down to TX

Submitted- Reservation placed reveal day, ordered 6/16/26, TX(Dallas), Esker Silver, 20 wheels, assigned VIN 3093 last Saturday. No delivery eta.

And I got my VIN 4 days ago and no delivery date yet.

I ordered on 6/17 and got my VIN on 7/2. No word on a delivery date yet. Was told it’s still in final quality checks.
