Thanks all for the support and suggestions. I love this vehicle! Stomped through snow and ice stuff like a champ.

Ended up talking to support again and I did another reset and they think it may have been the update...so far so good but I have a service appointment for Thursday for anything they can see for themselves.

Drive 4 hours home with zero issues..

I wanted to give an update... Rivian had my vehicle for a little over a week. Luckily they gave me a loaner because at the same time my ioniq 6 also had a battery failure. Anyhow during the repairs they said that the coolant temperature kept spiking and went from 70° c to 80° c and that potentially is what was causing the screens to blackout. Apparently there was bubbles in the fluid and they flushed or bled the system, drove it a bunch and so far the screens haven't blacked out.

I have noticed on two occasions since then when I've had poor network reception like songs not playing well all of a sudden from my phone, the car has had a couple glitches on its own at the same time. The first time adaptive cruise control stopped working even after retrying like three times and I temporarily even got a service appointment needed to use this feature but then 10 minutes later it was fine again.

Then last night driving my wife to the airport The car glitched out again at the same time as my music wasn't playing well and a couple of the screens seem to lose data but didn't go black. So maybe that's unrelated just kind of interesting not sure if anyone else's experienced that.

Regardless I made a video about the blackout screens if anyone wants to check it out:

Leasing Model 3 until R3X comes out, but now I have an R2 reservation as well.
I had it happen once or twice, reset always brought it right back and never affected the drive. Happened on my Tesla once or twice two, but thankfully seems to be totally isolated from drive functions.
I’ve had this happen to me in my Tesla while parked at least two times (screen rebooted). I can’t remember the circumstances. It might have been around a software update. Makes me wary of having a software-defined vehicle. It hasn’t happened since. I’ve had the vehicle for 15 months. It was brand new when I started leasing it.
