Since you injected (libertarian?) politics, this is exactly the kind of situation where government "mandates" and standards should be in place. There is no reason that a used EV purchaser should not have a right to SOH. And for that data, easily manipulated, to be regulated as to how it is calculated.No one has mentioned this specifically, but SoH is really important for used car sales. A vehicle with 98% SoH is worth more than one with 88% SoH, all else being equal of course.
I don't like government mandates, so I hope reporting the SoH in used car listings becomes an industry standard via the free market, because buyers demand it.
Voters elect representatives who make laws and regulations. Or they elect representatives who do not do so. The result is predictable and now verifiable.
