I just reserved in January 2023..going for my 2nd test drive next week. I don't think asking for Shop Access would do anything, but may be worth a shot? :D. I also have been OK'd to get the Large Pack with Dual Motor in hopes to get the R1S faster..but we'll see what that looks like.
First one was random. I got an invite for R1T drive. But I said I actually have a R1S on order and they hooked it up to drive the R1S. So my partner and I went. I was so stoked to drive it. But I have the guy my license and it had expired in March. So I had to sit in the back. Was super bummed...
I login every day to see if anything changes for me.
I did a test drive of the R1S the other week and have another scheduled drive on May 11th. Maybe I’ll ask about shop access :).
Positive thinking. I like it! We’ll see.
I do live pretty close to the San Jose and also Sacramento Rivian center. Got a new kiddo that arrives in October. Hope to hear something before then.
I ordered Jan 2023 - Never had a chance to even select which config i'd like but will be choosing Dual Motor. Most likely won't hear anything this year I bet.
I tested a Polestar a few years back in SF. Navigation was pure shit and the console/ui itself was terrible. Completely ruined the experience for me.
But as a few others have said, Polestar is Volvo. They've been making cars forever and as you know not made fully in America (which I honestly do...
Update: they called and emailed and said they’d be more than happy to schedule a R1S test drive for me and the fam instead of the R1T.
Going to do that shortly. So stoked.
Yeah, the icon is there (calendar icon). I click on it and it says R1T. I did have an R1T reserved over a year ago but canceled a long time ago as well. Maybe the system just thinks I am still getting an R1T and not the R1S. :D
Hello! Just got an invite to do my First Mile. However, it is for the R1T. I have a R1S ordered. My question is and yes, I did reach out to Customer Support at Rivian and asked the same. Figured i'd post here to see if anyone else has done this in the same area.
If I schedule a drive with them...
Damn. I had ordered a R1T a few years ago. Ended up canceling due to just reality of things (kids etc). We agreed on an R1S and we reserved January '23. I'm thinking it won't be until late '24 or even Q1 '25+.
I also have faith in Rivian to continue to ramp production and find ways to simplify...
Tesla is the King of taking things away. My car used to be able to change lanes and park by itself. They took both of those features away and have put it behind a few thousand dollar purchase that I will never purchase. I'm sure there are other features that I no longer have that I just haven't...
I wouldn't worry about it too much. There are Tesla owners and other EV owners who have hundreds of thousands of miles on it and have only seen a small percentage of dropped "full charge" range. Obviously if you abuse anything in life it'll wear and tear more than when you take care of it. But...
