Any of these "solutions" would be totally unnecessary if the AC would just stay on when you walked away from your vehicle and locked the doors. Like how it does in virtually any other vehicle.
Yes recirculation is turned on. Rivian looked into it initially and the technician that witnessed it said it's not normal. However they haven't done anything to address it.
Jealous of everyone here griping about the ac being loud only outside. Mine is loud both outside and inside. Combine the loud droning compressor sound inside the cabin with the super loud whooshing air flowing over the poorly designed vents, you can legit not have a conversation with someone...
I 100% agree. The lack of a proper tactile-based UI is going to be a big problem for any automaker that is unwilling to adjust to what people want. Very few people want an all-touchscreen UI but you wouldn't know that here on this forum. Because the minority (of the general public) who...
We have the Lariat and it does have PAAK. It's far more reliable than our Rivian. In fact the only time I ever had to use the keypad was when my phone died. When you enter the vehicle after using the keypad you can also enter a pin to start the vehicle and drive it normally. Ford hit a home...
FWIW, I sock drawered my key fob on day one. Just use phone and keycard as back up. I would LOVE to have a keypad on the door like my Lightning has. That would eliminate the need to carry the keycard. But if you valet your vehicle you would still need one (or the fob).
I always thought the best option would be a 200-250 mile range BEV with a range extending gas generator that added an extra 150-200 miles. Power and top speed is limited when in extended range mode but still totally practical to drive over long distances. This makes road tripping much easier...
I feel ya. This has been an issue for years and surely an easy fix for Rivian but they will do nothing. Now even my vent directions are changing on their own. And the recirc mode is turning off whenever it feels like it. Simple common sense stuff like fan speed down button should also turn off...
The 17" clearance of the tonneau is what makes it impractical for us. Also not being water tight is problematic for most things we would normally put in the back of our R1S. Of course this is all personal preference. If you're hauling 5 people with cargo that can get wet the R1T is probably a...
I think the R1S is superior to the R1T for road trips. R1S has more enclosed/secure storage area Leaving most everything exposed to the elements is not very desirable, at least for us.
A lot of us prefer a conventional steel roof with insulation over a glass roof. Particularly for those living in year round hot climates like us. Covering it with PPF is not permanent. It is easy to remove if and when this is preferred in the future. I bought the same sunshade noted in this...
Yes this doesn't work if it rains. And the vent option does very little to reduce the cabin temp anyways. Rivian should have an option to roll down all windows like other manufacturers have. I currently pop my trunk to vent. Of course I do this in a safe location only.
Yes this would work. I saw a video of a guy that did it to a Tesla roof a few weeks ago. Rivian's roof is nearly black in color when viewed from above. Therefore the glass will heat up dramatically (just like a black painted steel roof would). From a conduction standpoint, black glass performs...
Do you have the power outlets turned on? My Gen 1 drains about 10% a day with the outlets on with nothing plugged in. When it's off it's about 3% a day. Still ridiculous but much better than 10%.
