I was having this problem recently and then yesterday it stopped working altogether. I erased the current opener and then reprogrammed it, and itās worked fine since.
I designed and 3D printed a flag holder that attaches to one of the bolts in the side of the bed and also wedges into the tonneau cover slot (I donāt have a tonneau). If anyone wants the STL file for this, Iām happy to share it.
Following up from the disappointment of my first attempt to enjoy the Rivian on the sand dunes at Pismo Beach, because it was closed, I went back this week and got to explore & enjoy the Rivianās capability. In the process I learned a few things.
Tire Pressure: I aired my (BFG KO2) tires down...
I typically drive on the standard/middle ride height, in all purpose mode with the default suspension on soft, and it never rubs during street driving. Off roading it will rub if the suspension bottoms out.
If I drive on the street in low, it rubs when the suspension compresses very much going...
Thereās no way to know for sure without trying it. But Iām going to guess that itāll be ok. A 35mm offset is very good.
Keep in mind that different tires have slightly different shapes at their edges (this is more true for all terrain tires than road tires). Because of this, one tire brand...
I donāt want straps that wrap all the way around the tailgate. As the OEM, they have a lot more freedom to design something different. Yes, perhaps some buckles that clip onto the tailgate under the flap.
I want someone smarter & more creative than me, the same people that designed all the...
I love this pad. But itās missing a feature I was hoping for, which is a way to install & remove it quickly, rather than the same old straps. The straps are ok for putting the pad on & leaving it on, but thatās not what I want to do. Note in the video it looked pretty quick & easy to install...
I agree completely. But what about for the R2, which is supposed to be lower cost? It seems like thatās the right place to sacrifice some level of quality & apply all of this cost saving.
It seems like every time they criticize Rivian, itās for spending too much money and over-building everything with too much quality. I canāt recall them ever saying Rivian built something poorly.
This is the perfect description of Rivianās response to anything we want to do that doesnāt involve OEM parts and their service centers. If you follow the manual, it says you shouldnāt change the tires, wiper blades, or add windshield washer fluid without consulting them. āStay Adventurousā...
Rite Way Wheel in Walnut Creek, CA might be able to help, or might be able to advise you on how to respond to Rivian.
It seems like you could use a lawyer to write a letter to Rivian about this to force them to replace your wheels under warranty. Iām sure there are a few of them on this forum.
So true!
I hate the jacking pucks because they introduce two more potential pivot points, which is dangerous. Used with a floor jack on a nice flat concrete garage floor, this is unlikely to be a problem. But on the side of the road or off road, where the surface can be sloping and/or soft...
I agree that hit & runs are a big problem nowadays in California, both while parked and driving. I also agree with you that having good uninsured motorist insurance coverage is the best defense.
Unfortunately in 2023 California, video footage is not going to help for most hit & runs. Video is...
That means that my rims stick out 24mm (~ 1 inch) to the outside further than the stock rims do. Because of this, my tires rub just a little bit on the outside edge. If my rims were +30mm offset, Iām pretty sure thereād be no rubbing.
