I’ve been getting this “Display software error, Service vehicle soon” message ever since doing the 23.10.0 update. It pops up for a couple seconds each time I start the vehicle. Haven’t noticed anything not working properly.
Very cool event & great job by the Rivian teams. I’d like to know more details about how they recharged the trucks out in the middle of nowhere, what challenges & failures they had to overcome, in what ways the Rivians performed well, etc.
To be honest, I could do without the heavy political...
Going from 22’s to aftermarket 20’s, I’m sure my range has decreased a similar amount. But around the same time, Rivian’s updates have increased everyone’s range.
I’m not super concerned with the range loss because I rarely take the truck on road trips. But I just did take it on one that...
I don’t believe that, because when I was there on Saturday they said that the soonest it would reopen would be Thursday (tomorrow), if they didn’t get any more rain, which they have. Based on that info and the upcoming storms in the forecast, I wouldn’t expect it to be open for another two weeks...
* Are they load rated for the 7,000lb Rivian? Yes. I forget the numbers, but the wheels and tires are rated high enough.
* Were there other wheel offset options that would have eliminated the rub? Not anywhere near this price that I’m aware of. There are a few very expensive options, including...
Don’t make my mistake and go to Pismo Beach without first checking to see if the off road vehicle area is open. I didn’t anticipate any problems because it hadn’t rained for several days. But because of the heavy runoff, the river crossing the beach was not passable, so the OHV park was closed...
I had the same heart attack the day before delivery, and the same too many bikes & stuff that others reported. It forced me to clean house a bit, which is always good. Now that we’ve had the truck for a few months, it doesn’t seem as huge in the garage.
One thing that really helped is that the...
This was a bit tricky, but here’s how I handled it.
The female threaded hole in the truck is metric (I forget the size & pitch), but there wasn’t any metric all-thread (AKA threaded Rod) at my hardware stores, so I had to improvise.
There is an SAE thread that’s VERY close to the Rivian’s...
Update: Received my EV Sportline bottle Jack and puck today. I was relieved that the Jack and its case fit inside the spare tire, with just enough room to close the lid.
I also bought a cheap extendable 1/2” drive ratchet from Harbor Freight (~$20) and a Craftsman 22mm deep impact socket from...
Here’s how I did it. I’ve been informed that my EV Sportline Jack kit has been shipped. I’ll update the thread when I get that.
I’d like to know what the offset is of the wheel in that ad. The wheel doesn’t look familiar, and I’ve scoured the internet for anything with the correct offset.
So far, there’s barely an increase in road noise. But as these tires wear out I’m sure they’ll get louder.
The more noticeable difference is the improved performance over small, sharp bumps, like parking lot speed bumps. This is now the best performing vehicle I’ve ever driven over those types...
