I ordered a cheap one of these from one of the many sellers on Amazon or Etsy (I forget which one). I ordered the black plate with yellow writing option for Calif. When I got it, I was disappointed to find that it was just a piece of cheap black adhesive vinyl, not even cut straight or to the...
I think you’re right. After living with the OEM 22’s and these 20’s, I prefer driving the truck with the higher sidewalls and not living in fear of curbing wheels. For example, it’s not possible to navigate some of the parking garages and drive through restaurants in my area in the R1T without...
Thanks all for sharing your experiences. Your stories are very informative & entertaining!
Considering being in this situation brings up something I’ve often wondered - what is the optimum speed to maximize efficiency?
We always hear that slower is better, but I suspect that 30mph is better...
I designed & 3D printed a flag holder for my R1T. It wedges into the tonneau cover slot and is held in place with one of the bolts in the bed. I used it for one day at Pismo, including some street driving around town & a little on the freeway, and it worked great. I’d be glad to share the file...
That’s exactly right. Here’s how efficient I was (or wasn’t) while driving in the sand. Note that I was NOT concerned with range efficiency while enjoying the R1T in the sand, nor should anyone.
BFG All Terrains, size 285/60/20, on 9.0” aftermarket wheels that stick out more than stock wheels, which is likely the cause of the tire rub.
My tires are 1/2” taller than the stock 22’s and 1/2” shorter than the stock 20’s. That additional 1/2” sidewall is really nice. I’d like to drive one...
The real solution is don’t drive it in low or lowest, and then it never rubs. That works for me because I prefer standard/medium height. I’d like to grind off a few mm of every other knob on the front tires outside corner, because I think that might fix it. It only rubs when the suspension...
Marques provides one of many reviews that should be considered when forming an opinion. He has a genuine style that obviously appeals to many people, and enough knowledge to speak intelligently. He doesn’t pretend to know more than he does, which is refreshing.
This video is being compared to...
I have these wheels on my R1T, and you can find a full description of my setup if you search my posts on this forum. Someone mentioned that these wheels are out of stock, but I’m not sure.
After switching from stock 22” wheels to aftermarket 20’s with similar to stock 20” tire size, I think this is a good choice for anyone that prioritizes ride quality over performance or looks. I suspect that the on road performance doesn’t suffer much vs OEM 22’s and is superior to OEM 20”...
Because I read this thread first, I didn’t find it as douchey & offensive as expected. I thought he was pretty complimentary to the truck, such as emphasizing that it won Truck of the Year as the company’s first ever vehicle. I also thought that his mockery of many Rivian owners, and “mall...
This is what I’ve done. I switched from stock 22’s to aftermarket 20’s. Because others have said that their Rivian SC refused to change the config to 20” when they had installed aftermarket wheels, I didn’t bother. I don’t have any problems with my cameras working (that I know of).
