It was tongue in cheek mate. I agree with you. There are always going to be incidental when buying cars. Take for xample the $45k picnic basket with the Rolls.
Yeah that’s a whole other level for sure. I’m not quite at 45k dollar picnic basket level yet.

This thread has obviously caught my attention being that, I designed and ended up manufacturing magnetic jack pucks that look nice and have a suitable case for a $90K truck. Many of you have them. In fact thousands have ours :).

I do want to thank the OP, as my phone was dinging all morning on new sales, some of it attributed to this thread :). You have to love America, as you get posts from: they should cost $20 and are a waste of money :headbang:, to you have a $90K truck, justbuy them. Someone even mentioned you have to remove all the panels to use Jack Pucks as well (that was an odd one).

I used mine this morning to try out the Dodge wheels and measure fender gap and fitment. Wheel was off in 3 minutes. Magnetic Jack Pucks for the win!

LOL. Opposite goal, but glad sales are good :)
I ended up getting the MegaWatt Pro simply because of the cheaper price while still supporting bottle jacks. I just did a tire rotation with them and they worked pretty well.

Some random feedback:

The MegaWatt Pro worked well... however I do wish they were a "little" taller. With the 10 ton big red bottle jack on a 2x6, they maxed out with about 1mm of clearence under my stock 20" Pirelli... had to stack a few blocks of wood.

The MagJaxx look a little shorter than the MegaWatt Pro. If you were a bit cheaper, and a little taller.. i'd bet it would help you win out over the MegaWatt Pro in sales.

Tire shops I've been to have just used the lower control arms to jack it up. Much easier. In fact, I do the same when Jacking up my truck at home.
Take this for what it’s worth…. I asked a Rivian mobile tech about jacking the car by the control arms and he cautioned not to do it. But no explanation was provided. I’m not sure if there’s a real concern there or not.

Question. If MegaWatt Pro is taller (not sure if it is) but you needed a board using the same jack as seen used (without a board) with the MagJaxx, does that mean the recess for the jack head is deeper on the MegaWatt Pro or did you not fully extend the jack screw?
I realize this sounds like a dumb question, but I haven't pulled the trigger yet and plan to use a bottle jack/jack puck combo.

This is the perfect description of Rivian’s response to anything we want to do that doesn’t involve OEM parts and their service centers. If you follow the manual, it says you shouldn’t change the tires, wiper blades, or add windshield washer fluid without consulting them. “Stay Adventurous“.

I’m sure someone will respond soon to tell me that since I bought an expensive vehicle, I should be happy to pay $100 to have someone add washer fluid.

It’s a 100k dollar electric truck. I’m not going to worry about another 200 for Jack pucks.
No shit to this post. Feel much better with 4 stackable, magnetic pucks and a 3 ton shop jack in my gear tunnel for what I do.

Great question. I just measured the MegaWatt Pro. It's 66mm from top load surface (ignoring the pin) to the bottom. The bottle jack port is 15mm deep. So roughly 51mm of real-world height.

If @Mark_AZR1T stops hawking coupon codes, maybe he could grab his dimensions :D

Damn I already have them. They are nice and the case does keep them in the truck neatly.

Been jacking up cars this way for years and years and years. I personally haven't had a problem. That doesn't mean someone else couldn't. But, assuming you get a jack squarely under the control arm (not at an angle or on the sloping portion of the control arm, etc), shouldn't have any issues. Note: Not all jacks will be capable of doing so. Depends on how wide the base of the jack is and if you can get it close enough to the tire to get it under the lowest point of the control arm. The race style jacks work best. Regular floor jacks with wheels sticking outward from the sides likely won't get where you need to be on the front end of the truck, unless you go in sideways. The control arms are clearly strong enough to hold up the vehicle, considering they do it all day long. With heavy compressions over dips and such, they clearly can handle well more than just weight of the truck. Personally, I feel safer doing that way than with pucks loosely sitting on top of a jack post. But, that's just me.

To the "remove the plastic panels" crowd - the frame is made of steel and is painted. A jack or lift can scratch the frame paint and contribute to rust. This was why I bought the pucks.
