  1. Tinting roof glass

My R1T is the fifth vehicle I’ve had a high light transmitting but low IR/UV transmitting film installed on the inside of the moonroof and windshield. I live in South Carolina and this makes a HUGE difference in comfort. No problems at all. When a windshield gets cracked from a stone, the...
  2. Car Wash Mode issue with Park Assist from last update

I put my truck in car wash mode well before being on deck for the washing machine. Put it in neutral with brake pedal and stalk. None of these problems.
  3. Turn signal - let’s improve it!!

My 2010 BMW 335d (E90) has turn signals very much like my 2022 R1T. They are not mechanically coupled with the steering column, but electronically coupled with wheel position sensors. A lot of folks customize the cars’ coding and plenty of third party apps are available to assist that. My...
  4. Help... gas in my Rivian

If smells persist after this, move your seats (flat to upright, etc) and repeat.
  5. Help... gas in my Rivian

I agree with @jeeden. Plug an ozone generator into one of the 120V outlets and run the HVAC on recirc. A big ozonator will fix it in about 20 minutes, a small one in a couple of hours.
  6. Multiple Rivian Owner and Free NACS Adapter - My Experience

I'm the second owner of my R1T serial 7488. The adapter is being delivered tomorrow by UPS.
  7. First 2 Weeks of a New (to me) R1T

Interesting. I’ve had no problems with this setup, and have used it on six vehicles since 2012 with no issues. Just cool, quiet rides.
  8. First 2 Weeks of a New (to me) R1T

I bought mine used in February 2023 as well. It had 1400 miles on it. Now it has 42,000. Like you, I love this truck. My advice for sun shielding: go to a local tint shop and have them install the lightest tint IR/UV blocking film they have on the inside of the windshield and moonroof...
  9. Can I pull this off with the OEM 21” tires?

Piece of cake. You’ll have fun.
  10. Sometimes you have to give a Tesla a lift / tow ...

The solution is so simple you’ll slap yourself in the head. Simply press the accelerator lightly with your right foot while pressing the brake with your left. Modulate the brake to move slowly and steadily, much like you used to do with the brake on your ICE with automatic transmission.
  11. Climate Control settings

The problem with Pet Mode is that it always goes to fresh air. I don’t want hot humid air coming in.
  12. Climate Control settings

I’m wondering if there’s a way to make the truck revert to the climate control settings used last. I want my air setting to always be recirc and my rear settings to be face and floor. My truck won’t stay told.
  13. Air recirculation mode turns off when park

I, too, want my recirculation and rear floor vents to stay told.
  14. cooler recommendations please

I got the ICECO GO20. I really like it, plus it doubles as my everyday garage refrigerator.
  15. Efficiency and clean energy

@Dave Cundiff For a system that old, I suspect it is an A-type inverter, probably SE7600A, StorEdge. It will only back up a small dedicated loads panel. Turning off the DC disconnect (the round black switch) will accomplish rapid shutdown. Otherwise, the outdoor disconnect is a standard...
  16. Efficiency and clean energy

Yes, that’s the point of our courtesy notification, although it is a moot one. We always install SolarEdge systems, and they shut down completely when grid power goes down. On a system that remains energized during a grid outage, the outdoor disconnect for first responders shuts down all power.
  17. Efficiency and clean energy

I’m a solar installer. That limit only exists if you request interconnection. We install a few systems that are very large with batteries and configure them for maximum self-consumption and zero export. If you never export, there is no need to interconnect and you don’t have to play by the...
