Make sure you research your state’s laws and fees for titling and registration. In my case in Florida, I transfered a license plate which should have resulted in a savings of over $200. However, Rivian insisted on charging as if it was a new plate, but they did not disclose that and people I...
Until a couple of years ago our Costco was 50 miles away and we made it there maybe once a month. But their selection and prices is great and almost all their goods can be shipped, either free or cheaply. But if I was buying a vehicle and could save $1000 to $2000, I’d join for that year. It...
I had two Pirrelli’s on my Rivian that were warranteed. One was original from the factory and the other was a replacement for that one. The Rivian SC ID’d the tire as defective because they could not balance it but they don’t do the warranty on tires. Took it to Discount Tire who handled it...
I agree Rivian needs buttons for some climate control activities. My wife still can’t figure out how to adjust Rivian’s. But I would not put them on the steering wheel as passengers may be the ones doing the adjusting.
I hope this results in a good discount by the time my current lease is up. I may want to trade up from Gen 1. I used the Costco Auto discount when I bought my Audi eTron. It was almost by accident as I had already sealed the deal and price and then was asked if I was a Costco member. Said...
But don’t you lose the extra speed the ebike could give you? Seems like you still have to choose whether you want a workout or want to go fast(er).
And as to the other comment on my lack of knowledge, I mentioned I did not yet own an ebike but I have shopped them locally. I would also agree...
Actually, I see it as better than traditional ebikes if you want exercise AND want to go faster. Now I don’t currently ride an ebike but ride heavily, and at top speed, on a traditional bike. And BTW, every ebike I’ve seen has a throttle that essentially turns it into a motorcycle. I HAVE...
Certainly sounds like electrical parts touching that shouldn’t be. Adding water to the mix from a cracked reservoir doesn’t help. Could absolutely drain the 12V battery if something that the 12V battery powers. But beyond the diagnosis, this sounds like something Rivian should look into with...
I ordered one this month (January). Not shipping yet but I have gotten a couple of emails sort of keeping me apprised on progress (more marketing than details). The way they convert reservations is they refund the $50 and then you just buy the bike online. Not a fan of the UB color (purplish)...
State Farm since I first got my Rivian. Just had my first claim - a windshield crack. I had no issues and it was easy getting them to replace the windshield at the Rivian SC, even though a higher cost.
I had mine done during the mobile 7500 mile service. Just an inspection. I believe it may be just an improper torque issue, but because it is directly safey Rivian has to CYA.
I find the HVAC software flaky. I’ve got in my R1T on a hot day and had my it turn the heat on. I’ve had it visually show heat on one side and cooling on the other. Can’t verify remembering vents since I haven’t focused on that, but could have done that too.
Please don’t make statements that aren’t true. Standard sheets of plywood and sheetrock are 8 feet long. The Rivian bed WITH the tailgate open is only 7 feet. That thing is useless for plywood and sheetrock, and may actually get in the way.
I was just at the Orlando SC for a windshield install and because they weren’t busy, I got a chance to chat with the Service Manager. One of the things I brought up, tongue in cheek, that the Orlando SC being an hour away, that Rivian should consider putting one in Rockledge, FL (my home) where...
I wanted to give everyone an update. BLUF, I decided to go OEM because I did not want to fret about the lease turnin. I was worried about insurance agreeing but the process was super easy with no haggling required. My insurance is State Farm. Also, I am in Florida so the deductible is...
Right now, there are not many service options. Some on here that are true mechanics may be able to suss out how to do repairs common to ICE vehicles. Others, like myself, are capable to do these things when videos and/or manuals, plus parts are available. Until I owned EVs (Audi eTron and...
