I tried the solution of using the controls from the screen rather than the button on the steering wheel, and it did it again. So it's not likely the button being pressed multiple times. Next I'll try using the regular garage door opener for a few days and see if that triggers the issue. That...
I'll give that a try, but I have been very careful to do a quick short press on the steering wheel button and then let go. Maybe the button itself is faulty and causing a double-click?
I successfully paired my R1S with my Linear garage door opener. It works most of the time as expected. But every so often when I press the button to open the garage door, the garage door starts to open and then stops after moving 6-12 inches. If I press it again, it continues to do that...
You're right but there's more too it. I did discover that I was holding down the button too long and have been doing just a quick tap ever since. That cleared up most of the issues and it works most of the time now. However, there are still instances when I do a quick tap and it still goes up a...
Mine is spotty too. When I press the steering wheel button it always starts to go up, but one time out of five or so it will stop after raising the door about a foot. I can't figure out why this intermittent issue happens.
Recently I've been getting around 1% drain daily when unplugged and in my garage with gear guard off, etc. That was a big improvement after a software update they did earlier this year. It had creeped up to about 3%. Last night, however, I got 0% drain. Not sure if they dud another OTA software...
I've had this happen maybe 3 or 4 times over the course of the last year. It starts charging at scheduled time and then gets red error. One time this resulted in my Rivian being bricked because Rivian itself was caught in some type of doom loop and drained the 12v battery.
It was fixed. each...
My Rivian wall charger has failed a couple of times and need to be reset with a breaker on/off sequence. Last time it happened Rivian support sent a software configuration update to it. Hopefully that fixes whatever occurred in the past.
This happened to me this weekend. To fix it, I went into the settings page, clicked to turn off the location-based proximity feature and then turned it back on. It then started working again. I didn't need to delete the home location or the garage doors.
This is a great option also. I like it better than the other 3rd party options. I've tried them all: https://adventurehightech.com/products/stowncharge
I think this highlights the difference between Tesla drivers and Rivian drivers. Rivian drivers do tend to carry bikes on the back, or tow things or have lots of stuff behind the second or third row. Tesla drivers don't seem to care about that stuff.
I have been experiencing a new strange behavior also. When I click the button as I'm approaching the house, the garage door starts to go up. But then about a second into it, the garage door stops. It's as if a second signal is being sent from the transmitter and stopping the door from continuing...
I agree with you 100%, especially for Rivian drivers who do tend to have stuff on the back. But even without that, the idea of backing into a spot vs. pulling in front-wards seems idiotic. Why back in when you can just drive straight in. Much easier for the average driver to navigate without...
We have two EV's and two chargers, mostly for convenience. The chargers are located near to where the charge port is on each car, and my wife and I always know that both cars will be charged by morning since we have them both on a charge schedule that starts at midnight.
IMO, the best solution is not to constrain the vehicles to have the charge port at a specific location but to have the charge cords be a little bit longer to accommodate the vehicles.
For example, some people love that the Tesla backs into a charging spot. I personally think that's a horrible...
