  1. My R1S both damaged @ inside door panel -- Design flaw?

Yeah dude sorry, talk to the service center nicely refer to my pictures, this is poor design and as more R1S’s come out its gonna happen a lot. I also noticed the retracting gets stuck a lot on the seat. I’m sure by the Winter we will see lots more of these indents and eventual tearing.

  3. My R1S both damaged @ inside door panel -- Design flaw?

probably you’re right but I’ve owned three cars before this with kids and never seen this issue. It is what it is. I’m glad Rivian was nice enough to fix the car as a one time courtesy I’ll just have to figure out what exactly is causing the issue and how to solve it. At least I’ve narrowed it...
  4. My R1S both damaged @ inside door panel -- Design flaw?

So I’m reading other brands have had similar issues including BMW. It is poor design, maybe not a flaw. I’m thinking of trying out buttons that stop the metal from sliding down not sure how it’ll work. Among the many things kids can be blamed for, I can’t say this is really their fault :( Oh...

  6. My R1S both damaged @ inside door panel -- Design flaw?

Yeah I am thinking its the seatbelt, but its the exact same height on all doors, so seems like a design flaw. It’s not like we are doing anything special with the seatbelt just taking it on and off it should retract out of the way like other cars but seems like maybe its not always doing that...
  7. My R1S both damaged @ inside door panel -- Design flaw?

Hi guys, Anyone else have this issue? Please check both your rear passenger doors, on the inside panel is there a small indent? I have two R1S’s. I just took the launch edition in to service, see the peeling on picture? At exactly the same spot on the opposite door there is an indent beginning...
  8. Second R1S vs launch R1S -Positive changes!

I agree. These simple changes should be implemented soon. Rivian has got to understand yes their car is literally the most capable electric SUV on the market by far, but if a door doesn’t close nicely, a wireless charger doesn’t work as advertised, or we can’t read texts a lot of folks will...
  9. Second R1S vs launch R1S -Positive changes!

The seats feel the same, maybe softer and more comfortable but that could be just from them being brand new and me being excited about the new car. I like the seats personally, wish it was real leather though :(

Hi, I just wanted to post some positive news. I’m on original R1S owner launch edition oct 2022. I just picked up a second one last week for my wife. Without going into minutiae, I will see I was blown away by the changes. 1. The ride is so much smoother, she has the 21 inch road wheels I...
  12. Safety Issue - R1S needs warning when liftgate is open

I agree but a quick audio ding dong would be great especially for the R1S liftgate. The rearview camera would only be on if your in reverse, in this case she was only going forward. Also, there is no audio warning I think when a door is open. Those are basic safety issues that should be...

  14. Safety Issue - R1S needs warning when liftgate is open

Hi, Just a suggestion, R1S needs a warning at least when you first put it in drive that your liftgate is open. Today my wife started driving without realizing her liftgate is open. Not sure why their is no audible warning. I get sometimes you need to drive with the liftgate open, but the car...
  15. Review of my R1S, purchase, and delivery experience

Hang in there. I’d really recommend embracing the tech, use all the features everyday, you’ll be suprised in a few weeks you won’t be able to live without the features. Like the PAAK is a very key feature embrace it turn on the proximity unlock. Creep wasn’t a feature in gas cars it was...
  16. MKBHD Interview: Rivian CEO Scaringe Talks R1S and Future of Rivian (R2, Wireless Charging Pad, Camp Kitchen Update, Etc.)

  17. USB charger on rear screen not working?

So my rear screen console usb c doesn’t work with a magsafe charger plugged in, but otherwise works, anyone else notice this? The chair backs and center console works with magsafe.
  18. MyQ support

Another option I use, get homebridge, convert the MyQ to homelink compatible, and I just ask Siri to open garage door, works great.
  19. PC MAG: Rivian, Tesla, and Ford are embracing LFP batteries...customers aren't told which type they're getting

Ok not sure what do they consider standard battery for thr R1S? It doesn’t have a maxpack option so isn’t the R1S battery just standard? Either way they should add a la Tesla the battery description on the car settings
