  1. What do you want addressed in the next OTA update?

Interesting. I didn't think that's how it worked, but I can't confirm right now, since my truck is in for service ?.
  2. What do you want addressed in the next OTA update?

Why not just turn it off, period? They let you do that right now.
  3. Michelin Defender LTX Platinum

Sounds great. But 126 load index is probably going to mean a heavy tire.
  4. Failed towing experience

80mph towing a trailer will absolutely kill your range. The difference between 60 and 70 with my car hauler is pretty large. I don’t want to imagine what 80 would be like. 80 seems pretty fast for any towing anyway. Seems like asking for trouble.
  5. Rivian won’t sell me 20” AT wheels :(

I just put in a ticket this afternoon to order a set of wheels, center caps, and TPMS. They called me tonight, and now I have an appointment (5 weeks out, mind you) to go pick them up at the service center. I'd just give it another try. You should be able to order no problem.
  6. Yikes! Overheating motors.

Right, because warning indicators are usually hidden on the infotainment on a screen that is entirely optional to browse to, instead of on the instrument cluster where this "critical" piece of information would be impossible to miss. The red bar is a UI issue - that's all. Some UI designer...
  7. Yikes! Overheating motors.

I hope instead of taking this information away, that they just add more context. All it should need is a “motors warmer while heating battery” notification, and perhaps to prevent the orange and red coloring when it’s happening intentionally.
  8. Not liking one pedal driving

Maybe *you* need to do some research. The Taycan, etron, and etron GT (and probably other VAG EVs) allow (and in fact default) to coasting on throttle lift. I know for a fact that the etron uses a Bosch brake by wire system that will use 100% regen using the brake pedal, until the driver...
  9. Not liking one pedal driving

You can definitely hear some pads click in some calipers, especially if you’re braking for the first time after changing direction from forward to reverse or vise versa. Just because some people don’t know how to hear certain behaviors of their car, doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. Most street...
  10. R1S vs etron GT: the comparison you never asked for

Good summary. My wife drives an etron (not the Taycan based GT, but the SUV that shares the Q8 platform), and my observations are pretty much the same, except for the sportiness of course. The etron and etron GT are completely different vehicles, but lot of the Audi stuff is pretty universal...
  11. Driving to Trailheads in Cascades

Hart’s pass is definitely one of the hardest parts of the state to reach. Winthrop is a little tricky, but entirely doable with a Rivian. Hart’s pass would be harder, unless you do some level 2 charging somewhere. There simply isn’t ANY DCFC on Highway 20 up there. That’s the trouble.
  12. SpaceX alums say they’ll bring rocket reliability to EV charging

I really hate to defend SpaceX (because of Musk, not because of the rest of their engineers) but I have to point something out. Normally, the public doesn’t see all the failures that occur during product development. And certainly, you’d never consider failures during development testing as a...
  13. Rivian ABRP integration working (if you're motivated ?)

If you find a how-to for installing Node-RED on you platform of choice, that’s basically all you need. Once that’s installed, you load the json I shared earlier, and enter your API key. You will need that API key though, yes. There’s the unique I’d for your vehicle on your account, and then...
  14. Brake pad wear?

The Rivian does blend the brakes in for the last few mph of a stop with regen. You can feel/hear it sometimes under the right conditions. I wouldn’t expect this to wear out the pads very quickly, but I don’t think the comments about no blending are correct.
  15. BEST HACK for quick unlocking

Yeah, I’ve tried that. It doesn’t work. If my door isn’t unlocking, the gear tunnel isn’t responding either. I *have* come to the conclusion that it might mostly be my iPhone to blame though. When I used the key fob for passive unlock when I had a loaner, it worked far better.
  16. Any changes to Rivian Blue paint formulation?

I do like the color shifting of some of Rivian’s colors. I don’t really like it on the blue. The blue looks better in photos than in person to me.
  17. Regen severely limted for less than 1 mile.

I’ve had the same thing happen a few times since the latest update too. And I’m only charging to 70%. I don’t think it’s really thermals. I think it’s a random bug.
  18. Driving R1T past 0% dead battery while towing 6x12 Trailer miss-hap

Wait, what? EC and PC are still not on the Rivian nav? I did a road trip through Canada last summer in my R1T, and they weren't in there, but I figured that's fine, they don't sell them here yet. (Actually, you couldn't even switch to metric units back then ?). But the fact that they're still...
  19. Rivian software Q&A w/ Wassym Bensaid (talks dashcam, bed camera, turn signal camera, etc.)

I generally agree, but I've also discovered something which you may find useful if you're not already aware (and if you use an iPhone). If you have Siri wake word detection turned on on your phone, and your phone is connected to Bluetooth, and you keep your phone outside of your pocket when...
  20. Rivian software Q&A w/ Wassym Bensaid (talks dashcam, bed camera, turn signal camera, etc.)

You seem misinformed. CP/AA didn’t support Netflix or any other video streaming options last I checked, so that is hardly a solution here. If anything, it makes a good case for why Rivian should be rolling their own infotainment like Tesla. And AOSP doesn’t include DRM or other video...
