Thatâs why I was telling you to leave it below target so it start charging on a schedule which would allow you to have a warm battery before you leaveâŠ
Thatâs probably because your SoC stays over or at the range set while heating the cabin so no charging is required. The battery will be warm-up to 50F only under charging. Try to schedule a charge early before you need your truck and keep SoC below your range set before plugging it...
It does make a difference if you need to use the full range of the battery pack⊠I donât care where the energy comes from but if it comes from the battery it will reduce the available range. Now if the OP is only doing 50 miles it shouldnât matter as you say.
Even simpler, just increase range set to start charging⊠when you schedule a cabin precondition it WILL NOT warm the battery unless it brings the SoC below range set and then start to charge.
I know that, what I am saying is that no matter where is your SoC (from using the pack to heat the cabin or not) it should warm the battery if you are plugged-in as otherwise you will lose range to do it while driving. This is exactly what my 4 years old Model Y does... and it will warm the...
It does that also in my Gen 1 2024 R1T after defrosting the cabin from the app If climate controls is set to AUTO. Simple solution is to put off the auto mode and put it back immediately to reset it when I get in my truck and the air flow will turn from blue to red.
Sorry if I didnât get what was your point. DC fast charging pre-conditionning will not be triggered if a fast charging destination is not dialed in the system.
This is not how it is supposed to behave. DC fast charging conditioning from navigation will start to warm the pack to 85F from 20 to 30 minutes before destination.
It will warm the battery ONLY if the cabin heating reduce range below set range and charger start to charge the battery. The condition to warm it is charging not cabin heating which doesnât make sense.

It will work on a schedule ONLY if the conditioning brings the range below the set range and start to charge back the battery pack. If range stays over the range set it will not warm the pack to 50F. This is not a conditioning option for the battery but for the cabin. It doesnât make sense for...
