@Southern R1S I don't begrudge you your new vehicle. Enjoy it! Your order just a few months after mine does not bother me as much as fellow poster Christopher. As you can see from his posts, He had an April 2022 reservation and jumped the line into the shop just by chatting up a rivian...
Where in the southeast are you located?
Once again this thread has proven how poorly this company treats it''s early supporters. I'm the same configuration as you with a January, 2021 reservation and nothing but crickets.
It really burns me up to see folks with a 2022 reservation getting shop...
How can this not be covered under warranty?
I would never spend the thousands of dollars for PPF, but anyone who put down that type of money for a plastic coating on their vehicle deserves some warranty protection.
You ordered a full year after me and are getting your R1S before me because a neighbor's colleague had a family member who works for Rivian. I understand your excitement, but forgive me for complaining about this bush league behavior from Rivian. Total BS and an insult to early adopters.
Same here. Let me guess, friends and family got him to skip the line? Or perhaps he took a test drive and asked the kind Rivian employee for shop access so he could get his vehicle earlier despite ordering one year after us.
You need to take a bogus test drive so you can ask them for shop access which allows you to jump the line. Stop letting all of those folks who ordered well after you take advantage of Rivian's absurd policy.
Yes, but you're a unique case. I posted this for those who are torn between just those three vehicles. Towing capacity is definitely something to consider.
Not mentioned in this discussion is the different towing capacities of these vehicles.
EQS 4000lbs
iX 5000lbs
R1S 7700lbs
This is a limiting factor for me since I tow a ski boat. I'll have to continue to wait for my R1S. It's clearly the most capable EV "truck" available at this time.
So many Rivian apologists on this board. I get that the trucks are great and we want to like the company, but there have been too many managerial missteps to just look the other way and cut them some slack.
The haphazard way they are letting folks cut the imaginary waiting list is really...
You're doing it all wrong. Read this thread and be like the OP there who was able to jump the R1S line just by having a test drive. Seems the Rivian employee who gave him the test drive helped him gain access to the shop and got his R1S delivered 6 months before the expected date. Yes, he...
Here's how I see the OP's story. Had a late 2021 preorder scheduled for delivery October, 2023. Took a test drive and jumped the line ahead of the rest of us who are patiently waiting our delivery despite the fact that we ordered before he did. All of this was facilitated by some...
Good question, but no. I am outside of Tampa. Currently we have an Orlando SC and our Tampa SC is scheduled to open in 3 months. I've seen a few R1Ts in my area and personally know someone who has one.
Stories like this will continue to aggravate and alienate a large segment of the early pre-order customers. While I'm happy the OP got his vehicle, I'm pissed that others with earlier order dates in his vicinity were not offered a chance to jump the line.
These types of tone-deaf moves could...
Wow! This gives me some hope. My GW/OC R1S is slated for July-Sept. I need mine here this summer to tow a boat. If it shows up early I won't have to find an alternative.
I live in Clearwater. The charging situation in St. Petersburg is terrible. It's a tough place to park for any vehicle, and many of the few chargers do not function properly. They may be free, but you get what you pay for!
