I am 358 miles from the Brooklyn Service Center and 148 miles from the not-yet-opened Chelsea(Boston), MA service center.
My guess is that I won't be hearing from Rivian directly for a while.....and that's OK.
After my experience with...the other EV company...I'm hesitant to get a vehicle...
they could make some extra money being the exclusive airport valet parking provider for Rivians.....park there, they'll plug in for you, etc.....that would be sweet.
(But I also need one MUCH closer to me here in Western Maine.)
Just when I think I'm out.....
V2G/H is huge for me up in Western Maine. But....still won't be able to pull the trigger without seeing the Service model in action, or having a Service Center put in Portland, ME.
I got rid of the Tesla about as fast as humanly possible after it left me stranded...
I'm holding out hope for Portland. If not, maybe I observe from afar for a while to see A: how dependable the R1S is and B: how quickly Rivian can deal with it when it breaks down.
But tomorrow I'm trading in my X for an XC90 PHEV. Can't live out here and have to wait 5 hours.
After the weekend/week I've just had with... The other EV company, I will ask for my deposit back if there's not a service center within 75 miles of me.
5 hours to wait for a flatbed because....AN SD CARD went bad.... Would be a bad look for a young company who is, thus far, at least talking...
Maine....up to Bangor......
which, when you combine with other DCFCs, RAN and waypoints, and the future availability of a Tesla>CCS adapter should make most of the state and entry into Canada accessible.
I still think it would be very wise for Rivian to strike a deal here. Work with EA to make sure the cars handshake and POS works flawlessly. It will be a nice alternative until the RAN is built out
" Reston, VA (July 13, 2021) – Electrify America today announced its “Boost Plan” to more than double its current electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure in the United States and Canada, with plans to have more than 1,800 fast charging stations and 10,000 individual chargers installed by...
Correct.
IF the latest incarnation of the tax credit bill goes anywhere, $80,000 MSRP has been mentioned as the cutoff.
As it stands NOW, the feds only care about the number sold, no MSRP cap
I had an interaction with the Customer Service email today, because I am trying to determine if the Max Pack and/or other add-ons count against the MSRP when determining eligibility for the tax credit.
I didn't quite get the tax credit answer I was looking for, but they DID sneak in a hint on...
Since it can't power my house with V2H, I went out and bought something more useful, a dual charging clipper creek.
Of course, now that I've said that, They will announce v2h
interesting thought:
apparently VW is looking to bail on Electrify America, and their stake is rumored to be for sale for $1B.
I wonder if it's an all-or-nothing, or if a certain OEM can maybe drop 100-500M and A: buy-in, guaranteeing their vehicles will have access to a large scale charging...
