This reminds me of a rental car I got in Europe a while back (a Peugeot I think...) -- you could configure the sound of your blinkers. Got to love whoever came up with those names
Those are the warranty coverages for the battery/drivetrain; the comprehensive (a.k.a. "bumper to bumper") warranty is 5yr/60k for quad vs. 4yr/50k for dual.
One additional data point...
Shop selection: 08-Aug
Notified that R1S left Normal on rail: 11-Aug
Notified that R1S arrived at San Jose (CA) service center: 28-Aug
Will supposedly be available for pick-up on 07-Sep
So pretty much spot-on a month from selection to available for delivery.
And depending on what part of SLT you're coming from, it could be a lot longer if 89 through Emerald Bay is closed...which it certainly was for most of this past winter...
Can someone explain why they would remove certain combinations but keep the individual options overall? Assuming that they aren't doing "batch" production anymore (which I thought I read before), I don't get the efficiency gain of doing this given you have all the parts available. I could...
I picked mine on 08-Aug, so pretty fast turnaround from selection to shipment. If it does take 4 weeks to get from Normal to the Bay Area, that's an average of only ~80 miles traveled per day (I know it doesn't work like that, but still...the end result is the same)
It sounds like ours may be on the same train...I was told mine was headed from Normal to the SJ SC on 11-Aug. Crazy that it seems like they're anticipating ~4 weeks for it to make it's way to the SC when I've read reports of others getting theirs shipped from Normal to the west coast in <2 weeks.
Interesting...my guide hasn't even activated the "Sign Contract" or "Payment" steps yet even though my R1S was supposedly shipped via rail on 11-Aug. I don't mind, but just interesting that some are having those steps open up well before their vehicles arrive at their local SC.
Oof…sorry for the long wait. And here I was hoping to take delivery in SJ around Labor Day with mine having shipped last week…if your experience is common, I guess I’ll have to put my faith in the end of quarter push to make things happen.
Just to confirm, this IRS site is what I should reference regarding my Rivian purchase if I have a binding purchase agreement from 2022, correct? Basically, neither the $80k MSRP limit nor income restrictions apply...
I'd want to hear that people with "R1T" shop access are seeing R1S as an option and this isn't just Rivian's way of nudging R1S holders to pick an R1T because there's greater inventory.
So...if the shop is now showing both, should I switch my pre-price hike R1S reservation to an R1T, which should pretty much immediately get me access to the shop, and then just choose an R1S? ?
Yeah, my delivery address had been set to a PO box (I think it just defaulted to my billing/mailing address), and when I chatted with customer service earlier this month, they said I needed to change it to a physical address. I'd like to think that snafu didn't put me further back in line....
