That's what I was referring to originally. Just added the comma in there as an also. I should have been a little clearer. I assumed you were talking about the harness.
Good question though.
No one has mentioned any tariffs at this point. I believe the value is low enough that it doesn't apply. There's an $800 rule except for China and Hong Kong. The comma itself ships from the US.
There are a couple of options harness wise actually. There is the $99 comma harness, but there is also a harness that the one responsible for the port to Rivian builds for appx $265 HERE but it's a little more money - however supports the person responsible.
There is also an additional harness...
And sadly, I actually prefer to run the pedal myself most of the time. Only on straight stretches do I actually use cruise. So, I'm still driving 50% right?
Installing is fairly easy. There is only one part that gives a little headache and that's plugging the harness into the AXM - it's a very tight space. There is a guide that the guys in the Discord have compiled that helps a ton! You can take a look here - Comma 3X Rivian Gen 1 Install Tips...
I do, but there are times where a break is very nice on long trips. Like, driving straight thru from the Willamette Valley down to San Diego, being able to keep your hands off the wheel is actually very relaxing. Great for the bloodflow :P . I only showed the offroad thing to show...
I'm surprised no comments or questions here yet. I have over 9100 miles of assisted driving and can answer questions. I may not have all the answers, but @gerrylum is listening here as well. I'm sure between the two of us we can fill you in. Gerry also has a bunch of great YouTube content...
Own a Gen 1 and disappointed that D+ is as far as your going to get for an ADAS system? There is an option for those willing - Comma 3x with openpilot is currently not on sale, but still a great value if you're considering upgrading to a Gen 2 just for the added adas capabilities.
What is...
I used to commute a bit at swing shift hours. One night on my way home I came up on a concrete barrier completely sideways in my lane. Thankfully I was awake enough to see it. I was a good boy and parked there with my hazards and called the state police. That could easily of killed someone...
Rivian is much more than an automaker and I think people do not understand this. Their whole premise of creating their own systems is not for only Rivian use. This was first brought to light with the VW pairing and the use by VW of the Rivian stacks. Rivian is diversifying a bit here and...
Yeah, either that or take it in the house and plug it in connected to wifi. If you catch it when you get in the vehicle before stepping on the brake you can still adjust things like that.
