This is what I get. I also have it set up to use my fingerprint for security.

That is definitely weird behavior and can confirm I do not have that occurring with my Pixel 7 in my Gen1 R1T. On a separate note, I did see an article today that the latest iPhone update screwed up CarPlay. Not relevant to this topic, but so many on here are huge advocates for both and seeing that made me laugh.

I don't want to jinx it but the 2025.10.30 seems to have fixed it. I didn't have this happen once on my drive to work. I tried placing the phone on and off the charger many times and wasn't able to get the wallet to open up. Hopefully it's fixed.

Anyone with a Pixel suddenly having these issues like me? I haven't changed any settings since this cropped up. I suppose it could be due to a recent software update. Any input appreciated.
Hi, long time Pixel 6 user running android 15, no issues here.

Must be a Pixel problem - not seeing it on either our Samsung or Motorola Android devices.

I recently upgraded to a pixel 9 pro from a pixel 7 pro. Never had issues with the pixel 7, but now I'm having the same issue you described with my nine.

Yep. The issue went away for a while and has now returned. I don't know if it's on Google's end or the vehicle's. It's very annoying though.

Pixel 8 Pro, 1st Gen R1T but I replaced my Rivian factory charger with a StowNCharge from Adventure High Tech about a year ago. No issues, so assume it's related to the Gen 2 OEM charging pad itself? Or maybe related to the new "PIN to drive" setting? Have you tried toggling that? 🤷

It's baffling because it comes and goes. It's either tied to vehicle updates or updates on the pixel end. It will be there for a few weeks and then goes away. I initially had it at the end of March and it went away mid April until about a week ago.

It also has the same behavior on the Gen 1 if you are at your lock screen and hold it close to the door card sensor. I get hit with it all the time.

As it's associated with the NFC/RFID function (that's where you place your keycard to enable starting the car), what happens probably depends a lot on how your specific mobile phone is set up to respond to NFC detection. Some devices are more locked than others (first party payments only), some are more open and many allow 3p apps that enable different intents (like door access/unlock).

So I don't know if this changed for Rivian's app in a recent update, or if you may have updated a different app or mobile OS that caused this behavior, but it's likely one of many possible things.
