  1. Rivian Preheating for Planned Drives - Does NOT Precondition The Battery (Update it does if plugged in?)

Here is the tl;dr confirmed by a third rep - A different customer service agent has confirmed it will only precondition the battery if it is plugged in. The climate on the inside is preconditioned regardless. The tl;dr multiple reps were incorrect and the release notes aren't descriptive enough.
  2. Rivian Preheating for Planned Drives - Does NOT Precondition The Battery (Update it does if plugged in?)

I am chatting with them now to see if plugged in is the solution. It isn't called out in the release notes as only if it's plugged in but I see it reported . This is all very confusing and it shouldn't be this difficult. I talked to three agents separately this morning and all confirmed it...
  3. Having Cold-soaked battery warming issues? Turn off regenerative braking assist

@Dark-Fx and everyone in this thread - I got confirmation from several people in multiple chats it does NOT precondition the battery - it only does so for the cabin. I made a post about it here...
  4. Rivian Preheating for Planned Drives - Does NOT Precondition The Battery (Update it does if plugged in?)

It may just be me, but I was under the understanding that with the latest update it was preconditioning the battery and the cabin. It turns out that is NOT the case, I confirmed this with multiple Rivian service advisors today and it explains why my battery is at 37 degrees after completing a...
  5. New Air Cruiser RTT

Just got my crossbars today for my R1T. Curious - does anyone have longer term reviews/impressions? @AirCruiser where is the best place to buy this today?
  6. State EV Fees -

My colorado registration is almost 900 bucks this year - consider me jealous ? It is better than the 1100 it was last year tho.
  7. Tesla Cybertruck crash test rating situation revealed by NHTSA, IIHS

Rivian did the same thing... I'm not sure what this thread is about.
  8. New Battery Pack Design (not Standard Pack) & Architecture Coming in 2024 confirms Rivian CFO

Yall are delirious- I hope it happens, but man I bet yall would be ask yourself this - would you pay more for those features? Because otherwise as a shareholder I hope they keep steady - there's not a demand issue and it creates a reason to get the R2 platform. Have a great night y'all! Ima go...
  9. New Battery Pack Design (not Standard Pack) & Architecture Coming in 2024 confirms Rivian CFO

Okay - so you're argument is it would be cheaper to produce an 800v arcitecture than a 400v, then why wouldn't they do that with the max pack and get them a bigger profit? That just doesn't make sense, the whole idea of manufacturing when you're reducing costs is to streamline it. Adding a whole...
  10. New Battery Pack Design (not Standard Pack) & Architecture Coming in 2024 confirms Rivian CFO

It really isn't tho - this is what was mentioned in their latest earnings which was reflected in Q2. - Rivian designed own ECUs, away from Tier 1 ECUs that other OEMs use. This enables Rivian to own software stack and push updates more readily, and not be confined by Tier 1 ECU functions. -...
  11. New Battery Pack Design (not Standard Pack) & Architecture Coming in 2024 confirms Rivian CFO

Not sure if you listen to the earning calls - but it has been explicitt mentioned since before the reddit post it's about cost reductions. If you'd like sources in addition to the above - https://www.fool.com/investing/2023/08/14/rivn-earnings-call-q2-takeaways/ That was back in Q2 and...
  12. New Battery Pack Design (not Standard Pack) & Architecture Coming in 2024 confirms Rivian CFO

I mean they aren't assumptions they have said in earnings calls the goal is simplicity and cost reductions and above they have said it will come in the next generation platform. Please - for my sanity - list out what assumptions I made.
  13. New Battery Pack Design (not Standard Pack) & Architecture Coming in 2024 confirms Rivian CFO

It is just a part refresh which is typical and normal in manufacturing. They are moving more towards lean principles and iterating on a part ot make it more cost effective. Introducing a whole new arcitecture, structure, and parts to a line which are more expensive seems wildly counter intuitive...
  14. New Battery Pack Design (not Standard Pack) & Architecture Coming in 2024 confirms Rivian CFO

I'd take this with a grain of salt - Rivian already said no 800v in the R1 line, it is mainly aiming for the R2 line - last question, right here -
  15. Latest RiDE Menu Code

Fwiw the tech that did it via mobile service said it could take 10 minutes or 3 hours depending on how many times it failed. It was done in 10 minutes ultimately - he had a laptop and some cables with him. Really weird, maybe it depends on locations and different service centers have different...
  16. Latest RiDE Menu Code

This isn't true - they did mine via a mobile service.
