I know we are supposed to have all our estimated delivery windows updated "by the end of August" but I haven't made any changes to my configuration in many months and over the weekend my estimated delivery window changed from October - December 2023 to "processing estimate". Did this happen for...
I’ve gone back and forth in my mind with my Dual/Max pre-order and potentially switching to Quad/Large, especially after the warranty change, but I just can’t get comfortable with the Shop vehicles for this very reason - no VIN’s, no build dates. You don’t get really relevant info until after...
I've been holding out for the Max Pack for 2+ years and with each incremental change/announcement I question my decision even more. The warranty difference may be the last straw for me. Lots of Quad owners have reported solid range numbers utilizing conserve mode so that probably makes the most...
Since the Max Pack is only available with the Dual motor it also means the Max Pack battery warranty is 25,000 miles less. Not sure I understand Rivian’s thinking here since the Max Pack is positioned as their best battery and they are asking customers to pay a pretty hefty premium for it, yet...

Not sure how Rivian benefits from merging with another startup that has limited resources/cash. What Rivian needs the most is enough capital to execute on its own strategic plans - namely getting the R2 platform across the finish line as soon as possible.
I posed the exact same question to Rivian customer service 4 months ago and I was told if I purchased one of the R1 shop vehicles without a tonneau cover, I would have to purchase it from the gear shop at current pricing which as you correctly mentioned is $1,000 more.
Yes. I was a May 2021 Quad Max Pack pre-order but when Rivian informed us they were not going to build a Quad Max Pack I was switched over to a Performance Dual Max Pack keeping something close to my old pricing. Now I just hope they build it....in 2023
If the Vehicle Summary says "No Tonneau, Manual Compatible" you can buy a manual tonneau from the Gear Shop when it's available. The key question is will it cost $800 (pre-March price) or $1,800 (current price) and I've been told by Rivian it will be $1,800.
