I'm PRETTY sure I'm right on this but I'm also some random internet moron and could be wrong. Maybe ask your insurance or Lexus?
Best of luck either way!
Yep that is my understanding, you never own the car so there's no reason for insurance to give you anything.
As far as the lease goes I believe if the car is totaled then your lease is done you need to figure out a new ride. It's one of the reasons leases are kinda strange if you're not...
Personally if it's under a grand to get a 14-50 installed I'd do it, then when you go to sell you can add "EV charger connection"
If so have them do large enough wire for 60amp so you give the next owners a nice perk.
Just a thought
I personally did mine now for the fact that I owe WAY less than it's worth. In case we wrecked it and its still a lease they say "thanks, have a good day" but if we own it then insurance should pay out what it's worth, since new ones are now 120k+
I used my local credit union. On the Tesla App you can look into your lease, from there you can do a lease buy out, it will ask you a few questions, just fill it out and it will start the process. I would suggest that you do it RIGHT after your next lease payment so you have a full 30 days to...
Received an email last night around midnight - A Seamless Process to Purchase Your Rivian - Than another around around 7am - Your configuration is ready to confirm -followed by a phone call from my guide around 10am.
Changed my color so that's going to set me back some time but totally fine...
I hope Rivian can get on board with EVgo for plug and charge. They're not the biggest but with them rolling out more and more chargers with GM hopefully they'll become better for us...
Pretty sad that you have to go through all this to just get the pad to work. Wonder if just a base replacement to something that keeps the phones on each side would fix the problem
I'm in the same boat as you (waves from the other side) I have a 2020 Long Range X w/ FSD + free supercharging (Dec 2019 pickup) on lease. Last week I started the papers to purchase the X as the lease is coming to the end.
My take on it, at this point our R1S will not be here for 12+ months...
Watching - I'd like to have it on all the time personally. I have a blackvue hard wired in my MX and hopefully by the time I get my R1T someone has figured out how to hardwire one for constant coverage.
Nothing wrong with having 2 systems watching over your car.
