I'll start by stating that the Cybertruck is hideous and I love my R1T. But this is list is not a genuine criticism at all. It is just as easy to create a similar list of Rivian's overpromises / failures / compromises. For instance:
- Tank Turn
- Removeable Roof
- Electrochromatic Glass Roof
-...
I completely agree with this sentiment. I LOVE the vehicle, but it is becoming a burden and inconvenience to own. And like you said, there are really no signs of improvement. If anything, things are getting worse.
If I could sell it for what I paid, it'd be a tough decision.
Unfortunately, I think it does make more sense for Rivian to "fix" the problem with Enterprise rentals while they ramp up production and hiring and service centers. It's a band aid. And yeah it costs a lot, but it is a relatively small globally.
Here's my very conservative napkin numbers...
I just set it up shortcuts so if I double tap the back of my iphone it unlocks my Rivan. And triple tap the back of my phone now locks it. And it works! This is so cool!

I would prefer anything over the plain glass roof. Either delete the glass roof altogether or make it operational/functional (electrochromic glass, power sunshade, ability open, ability to vent, or removeable panels).
As is, the plain glass roof has more cons than pros.
Read this and tell me that the you actually think the "the vehicle as it stands today is what you are buying" is an accurate statement. If that were true, why would they even bother with OTA udpates?

Here is just a few excerpts from one...
I don't agree at all. Rivian has been marketing their OTA updates almost more than anything else. They have continued to tell customers that your vehicle will get better over time. This is especially true because they are new manufacturer and had to get vehicles sold and on the road as quickly...
I completely agree with this sentiment. They need to clearly differentiate the product before selling it. That's pretty basic. Otherwise, everything they do in the future will be completely subjective (by Rivian) and met with criticism.
Also, because the vehicle and the company are so new, and...
How can the different software be justified when Rivian has yet to define or confine what that means? Until they have a fully refined product, I don't see how they can justify differentiating software updates. Right now, I think it is widely accepted (even by Rivian) that the product is not...
Sure, I get that. But you also have to understand that the vehicles they are delivering today are not final products. That is the entire point of OTA upates. It allows a new manufacturer like Rivian (that doesn't have the experience/data that comes with having vehicles on the road for decades)...
IF this is true, this is BS by RIvian. Basic software improvements shouldn't be paywalled. That was never suggested. Something as drastic as that should be explicitly known to the customer up front.
Rivian is making things up on the fly and it is not okay.
This is exactly why Rivian needs to...
Downloaded last night and played around with the new Drive Mode interface during my commute this morning and I can confirm this sentiment. Selecting a different drive mode is now less intuitive, confusing, and requires more presses and attention. I really don't like it.
I couldn't take my eyes...
I'm just speculating. I could absolutely be wrong. And I hope I am, because I agree with you completely-this widget is not useful for daily driver. However, I think Rivian's cherished Rebelle Rally is the reason - a race that relies on manual navigation. They are even using this display in the...
