  1. Software Update 2023.38 Release Notes ?

I do not think it is a reading of elevation above sea level. I think it simply measures vertical feet traveled, which is why there is a reset button and it reads a high and a low.
  2. R1S vs Model Y in mud

Mud is a VERY common off road encounter. In my neck of the woods (and probably most of the country), mud is MUCH more common than rock crawling. I'm disappointed that the Rivian seems inferior in mud conditions. I bet 99 out of 100 "stuck" vehicles in America are in mud, not rocks or steep...
  3. Software Update 2023.38 Release Notes ?

Oh, that makes total sense and really confirms my suspicion. For most drivers, these widgets would be more useful on the NAV screen, not a gauge cluster.
  4. Software Update 2023.38 Release Notes ?

So if it is a reset, is it safe to assume that it is not a live tracker of elevation above sea level. And instead it is measuring elevation gain during a trip? Again, this seems like something really only useful to the Rebelle Rally.
  5. Software Update 2023.38 Release Notes ?

Why does Elevation have a refresh button?
  6. Software Update 2023.38 Release Notes ?

Great thoughts. And I agree. Definitely steps in the right direction and good for Rivian for working on things, but this does just seem like one step in the right direction versus a finished, polished product. - There is so much blank, unused space on the drive mode screen. 2/3 of the screen is...
  7. Rivian OEM Storage Drawer appears in Owner's Manual!

I'm sure the back locks the drawer in place. But I'm referring to a locking front. Like a locking glove box.
  8. Rivian OEM Storage Drawer appears in Owner's Manual!

I could be wrong, but it doesn't appear to be locking, does it?
  9. Discovered that R1T Powered Tonneau Available in Gear Shop Early 2024?!

Just remember to take this with a grain of salt. The website has had some wildly misleading and outdated information on it before. The removeable roof option coming in 2023 was on there for years!
  10. Let's remove the Conserve Mode stigma

https://rivian.com/support/article/what-is-the-warranty-coverage-on-a-new-rivian Battery pack system and drivetrain system limited warranty based on configuration: 8-year or 175,000-mile (whichever occurs first) for Large pack battery with Quad-Motor. 8-year or 150,000-mile (whichever occurs...
  11. Official: SOFTWARE SPOTLIGHT Version 2023.30.0

I know this was already said, but I'm just echoing the sentiment. Garage Door accessibility and geofencing was nowhere near one of my top requested features. It wasn't even on my radar. But now that I have it, it is one of my favorite OTAs updates to date. Not having to use the touchscreen for...
  12. R1S cabin temperature just too hot for Florida

Everyone on here telling you to tint. Well, I live in Texas and ceramic tinted the roof and it is still annoyingly hot. Even while driving after the cab has cooled down, the top of my head is quite literally hot to the touch. The sun is intense, the glass roof is too hot to touch, and your head...
  13. Pettiest complaint: I hate the turn signals

definitely annoying. I accidently over correct at least once a day and signal in the opposite direction. You didn't mention this, but I also hate the fact that you cant' see if the turn signal is on in the side mirrors. I like having that visual assurance when changing lanes of looking in your...
  14. Certified Body Repair Prices Are Outrageous

This very real and huge monetary issue is my number one concern/complaint of owning a Rivian. My insurance is insanely expensive and I'm absolutely terrified to get a minor scratch on this thing.
  15. I’m Selling My Rivian R1T - In-Depth Owner Review After 24k Miles In 9 Months

Lol chill man. It's Youtube. It's the world we live in. Why write a restaurant review? You don't have to watch. The ironic thing is you are literally on a forum about a car, essentially writing a review/comment on someone else's review of the car (that the forum is about), and your review on...
  16. Latest build quality R1S VIN1306x

Fwiw, the A/C compressor is only super loud for me on very hot days and after 10+ minutes of driving. You'll know it when you hear it. Hard to miss. If you are saying it's "not bad", you haven't heard it yet.
  17. NEW UPDATE: Version 2023.18.00 (Internal Beta): Scheduled Charging In The Rivian Mobile App, Driver+ Improvements, Usability Improvements, and More

I'm starting to get a little annoyed that there haven't been any improvements to Phone call and text UX and useability. Also, using my phone to play podcasts or audiobooks in my Rivian is a terrible experience and there haven't been any improvements to address it. I can't be the only one with...
  18. Automakers are starting to admit that drivers hate touchscreens. Buttons are back!

Oh, I agree that with ZERO physical buttons, Alexa has it's use. But, a simple button would still be best. My Alexa is so finnicky. Half of the time, she doesn't understand my commands, doesn't have signal, makes me repeat the command, or does the wrong command.
  19. Automakers are starting to admit that drivers hate touchscreens. Buttons are back!

Yes, in theory that is how things SHOULD happen. But, Edward Snowden pretty clearly showed the world that the US government has been illegally / pseudo-legally been obtaining carte-blanche FISA warrants on anyone and everyone they want at any time. And it turns out these weren't even real...
