I believe this Bezos tweet is at least in part a joke. It mimics a tweet from earlier this year that Tory Bruno sent to Bezos, asking him where ULA’s rocket orders were. Doesn’t mean it’s funny, but maybe not as nefarious as it originally seems.
I’m an R1S preorder in Littleton. Was a little late on pulling the trigger, so a January 2021 order date. It will be replacing a 2001 LC with 300k. Can’t wait, but I guess I have to.
I agree on LCs, newer aren’t worth the money and the R1S is the only thing I have even considered replacing my 100 series with. Hoping to crack 300K before I get the R1S. Good luck with your career moves.
Nice! Missed it by a couple hours on the way down the hill from the mountain house. I have my kids trained to look for them at this point. Still waiting for my first in person look.
Reading the Twitter comments, it appears to me that Rivian is claiming these were not the official first deliveries and that some trucks are out there.
Interesting. Completely different info than Dept of Revenue provided over the phone. Thanks for sharing. Hope the energy office shares that info with the dept in charge of taxes.
I had this same question on classification for the credit. Colorado Dept. of Rev. told me it would be a light duty passenger vehicle, so $2500 if you get yours before 1/1/23, $2000 if later. Now could you get away with saying it’s a light duty truck on your taxes? Possibly. You could at least...
My 100 series land cruiser is the same. Not quite enough behind the first row for 8’ sheets, but plenty wide. Interesting you ask about tailgate down and lift gate closed because I have always done the opposite. Lift gate up with tailgate up. Keeps sheets in without securing with tie downs. I...
Anyone able to determine how many times the app has been downloaded on iOS and Android? Would be interesting to know, might give a decent idea of number of actively involved pre order holders.
Agreed on this. That is all that my insurance agent was able to get when seeking quotes. Mine came in at $325/mo for Nationwide, $310/mo Travelers for R1S in Colorado. She was met with confusion at Nationwide when she asked about the specific Rivian program, so this is just a generic quote for...
Better still, take the “free” 21’s and buy 20 inch rims and moderately aggressive AT or AS tires. Will cost you less than the $3k upgrade cost for ATs.
You can always use any Costco or Sam’s club bathroom…as long as you are faster than geriatric Merle and Charlie that are checking receipts at the exit.

I moved back to Colorado in 2017 with a Mustang GT, which was a purchase when I was living in a different climate, and goes in the garage in the winter. I *really* need a car I can use in the winter here, and was hoping to get a LE before the end of 2021.
I walk to work, but I don't think I...
R1S explore w/ off road protection here. I think that the value of the adventure package is much greater on the R1T than the R1S. Seems with the off-road protection/tow hook removed from the adventure package, the upgrades on R1S are all interior luxury items that I just don’t need. Coming from...
1) And before Tesla, the Prius was the benchmark, what’s your point
2) Why does Rivian’s success depend on Tesla making non-combustible vehicles?
3)It’s called gravity
