I honestly did not think it was possible to have a smaller cargo space behind the 3rd row of a full size SUV than the LR4 (9.9 cu. ft.). The photos seem to show more than what is in the LR4.
I have also reviewed all the information in the Motortrend report and while usually accurate, they...
That is reassuring. I got it from the Motortrend report. Maybe a typo on their part?

“A common feature between the R1T truck and R1S SUV is the 11.0-cubic-foot front trunk, giving the latter additional space for cargo. With all seats in place, the...
I would love to see Rivian go the other way (maybe not out of the box due to financial constraints) and pay premium for ICE vehicles, with value based partly on its MPG. The worse the MPG the larger the premium they pay on the trade. They could use trade-ins as a marketing strategy, able to...
?
I once totaled a vehicle the night before I was supposed to trade it in. That last glory ride across the golf course proved to be a very poor decision.
I just had the same experience with Carvana. So easy and offer was way above Volvo, Carmax and other online buyers. Thinking about selling them another vehicle as they offered $1k more than I paid for the car 14 months ago. I will never trade in again.
So many reasons, here are my top 5.
1.) Early midlife crisis.
2.) Owe the planet some carbon reduction thanks to my lust for V8s. (I know, just go plant some trees, but trees don't offer me 750 hp)
3.) Typically own vehicles for 10-15 years and can't see myself in an ICE for that long this...
Thanks AZ Bill. Not so worried about airport and I will probably park it in the garage there, something my land cruiser and I have never done. It’s really the backpacking trips that concern me. Sometimes you can find a shady parking spot, but usually the car bakes in the CO sun for two weeks at...
Thanks for your response. This was definitely appreciated. I raised the idea because I do leave my vehicle for extended periods of time and while 2 weeks at the airport with a charger available when I return is not a big deal, 2 weeks backpacking trips(we do a couple each summer) would concern...
Wondering if anyone has looked into hood mounted solar panels to allay range loss when leaving your car for a backpacking trip or even at the airport for two weeks? I think it would look great and every little bit of additional range will be appreciated, but I am no solar expert/electrical engineer.
I have a 2001 land cruiser with the split gate and it is one of my favorite features on the vehicle. Nice in the rain or snow to get gear on and off. Many a diaper and tire tube changed on the tailgate. it is a pain to load with the tailgate down though, so 180 drop will be nice for loading...
That would explain why they claim there is only 7.1 cu ft. of storage behind the 3rd row. Photos I have seen seem to show more than that. LR4 has 9 cubic feet and I don't think you could fit a shoe box flat and still close the liftgate.
Hip room was a surprise to me as well given the width of the vehicle. 2017 Toyota Sequoia is only half an inch wider and their hip room numbers are 62.5/59.9/50.4. From a overall size perspective, they are very close, with wheelbase within 2" and length 6" (which appears to be the difference...
Littleton here. Just bit the bullet and reserved. Hoping to get the r1s in 2022. I share your thoughts on the price and it kept me from reserving for a long time. I have have never spent more than $40k on a vehicle and have been driving the same land cruiser for 15 years. I was recently...
