Any change could result in a schedule change, you have no way of knowing though what that change could be. Could move you up could move you back. Nobody knows. I don't think Rivian even knows.
Is your FIL a professional driver? I would love to see what a pro driver on a closed course could do with the truck - maybe a few drivers on a few courses: city streets, track, twisty backcountry, and rally.
I have a set of studless snow tires for my Crosstrek, not for snow but for ice. running around on surface streets even in hilly areas here in Portland I am fine with the stock all season tires if it's just snow.
However, if a layer of ice develops, then AWS/4WD doesn't do much with all season...
Didn't ABRP suggest (as an alternate) the same as Rivian and give the same estimate?
If so, It would be interesting to compare the alternate in ABRP and Rivian and see if ABRP is giving longer estimates for charge times or different % of when to stop?
You missed my point, let me try again:
If I have an R1T reservation that is close to delivery, i can switch it to an R1S and keep my place in line which would get me an R1S before yours (I would likely get an LE early fall 2022 if I switched)
if someone placed an order today, they couldn't do...
93K if you went quad motor but then you're in a different vehicle than the F150 (if I recall correctly). Dual motor R1T Adventure is $79k at the new pricing.
Agree with the first part, disagree with the second. They are dealing with a very competitive labor market, so I think it's fair to assume that hiring "on demand" is not feasible. I think getting folks in, getting them trained, and being able to respond when the supply is available is a better...
I'm just trying to understand why someone would delay taking delivery of an R1S until 2023 when if they wanted an R1S they could switch their R1T order and get it sooner OR if they actually had a truck they could simply sell it at a profit and place an R1S order for sometime in 2023 / 2024 but...
If I built a spectrum from work truck to adventure vehicle with the middle being daily driving / grocery getter, I'd put forth that the Rivian is a better vehicle across about 2/3rds of that spectrum if you didn't take price into consideration.
If you did then I'd say the F150 is probably...
100% agree.
And there are definitely things I thing the F150 does better:
I like the v2h power, I think the infotainment looks better (including Sirius XM), games, etc. I also noticed in the UI a setting for locking differentials (I don't know enough about off roading let alone off roading...
I didn't watch Kyle, but did watch Doug Demuro - and it confirms everything I thought about the truck and why I don't want one. It isn't exciting on any level to me. I will say I think the infotainment is better than the R1T, but overall it's a pretty conservative entry into the market and I...
F it - just changed to Forest Edge.
I am sure that means I'm going to end up delaying my contact. But that was my original configuration way back when. I like the shade of that wood and I think the green on green is a good look. Dropped the gear shuttle to offset that price increase (mainly to...
