Did your vehicle have the same pattern of behavior? (i.e. height changes preceding the clunking sound and then failure)? that is concerning, please keep us updated. thx
This is total conjecture but from watching the timing of the r1t early deliveries it seems like it’s the same train that goes through so cal first and then loops up north to hit ssf and sac.
Nice! That is reassuring. 900's VIN, bay area. I think the trains go through so cal first and then make their way up to the S SF center (based on truck deliveries). Hopefully this means that the train makes it here next week for a delivery soon here as well. congrats!
Thanks! I'm not holding my breath b/c I was also told in April 2021 and November 2021 that "my R1S [was] on the line and visible as we speak!" when chatting with customer service back then about the original non-delayed windows.... They obviously were not informed about the actual production...
You can add me there. 11/27/2018 LG/BM/20AT SF Bay Area but I think I'm getting close. VIN assigned, on train for 2 weeks apparently from Normal... It's been tough admittedly b/c I've now seen 3 other non-employee R1S owners here in the past few weeks. I had a chance to talk briefly (shouting...
You have to buy it directly from the gear shop vs add to order. At least that has been my experience after talking to my guide. The variability in guide responses is quite high though so you may get a totally different answer :)
I'm an S. Originally a T and switched to an S a few days later when they were announced and opened up. This was back when they said S manufacturing and delivery would be just a few months behind the T...but that turned out to be a whole lot longer :). Order and delivery timing are a bit...
Great news! Also waiting on a south SF delivery and same recent timelines around config locking and 8 steps...(although I preordered on 11/27/2018!!!). I've pieced together that the rail may stop in socal first and then make its way up here based on the earlier R1T deliveries that started...
The kuat nv2.0 should work well. It drops down easily with a lever (similarly to a few others like the Thule) so you can drop the tail most likely. I’m aiming to move it from my current car to an r1s (when it arrives) and can report back.
I have a hypothesis that this is actually caused by the way in which they do height adjustment. The joints don't appear to be delta or co-planar with the side of the car (hence the camber angle appearance on the car at different wheel heights). I imagine if the car is static (which they...
Same here. I experienced this during the first drive a few years ago and figured it as throttle mapping. It did take a lot of travel for the motors to engage which is super different from tesla (few mm of travel on my model 3 and it starts to move, which I like).
That is good news. Also confused as an 11/2018 R1S LE/LG/20AT/BM preorder holder in the bay area. No updates about timing of delivery or any movement, offers of alternative configs etc. I've seen several here in the bay area and chatted briefly with an owner (non-employee) who pre-ordered 11/20...
Congrats! Still mystified about delivery priority. 11/2018 preorder with the same exact spec, to a t. (15 mins away from south sf center) but not a peep about any timing or information. I’ve seen 3 in the Bay Area at this stage, including right by my workplace, but cs doesn’t have any info on...
awesome to see more deliveries in the bay area. I actually saw 2 in the span of a few minutes driving near my workplace in emeryville and almost fell over. hahahahaha. 11/2018 LE/LG/BM/20AT, waiting to hear news.
I feel you. 11/2018 order, 15 mins from SSF, r1s/le/lg/20”at/bm but not a peep. Seems like different guides have different levels of proactive sourcing etc. really like my guide on an interpersonal level but she has never offered any info that suggested order timing or availability of options.
Amazing! Great to hear. Underbody shield option as well? similar timeline but no updates from my guide. Really itching to learn more as I had a unicorn event and saw 2 in the course of a few minutes here in the bay area. Tracked down one owner, non-employee, who ordered a full year after me, but...
