  1. Rivian Adventure Network - Deep Dive / Analysis (Four Corners region)

No doubt. Having also lived on the East coast (DC) for many years, I can say that everything out west seems soooooo much farther apart. It's not just "is it convenient" but "will I survive?" Of course, I'm exaggerating but there are drives in the west where if your tank/battery is not full of...
  2. Rivian Adventure Network - Deep Dive / Analysis (Four Corners region)

Analyzing the route from Denver to central Texas, it's a big problem. Say you want to hit a Cowboys game in Dallas - looks like you'll have to drive down to El Paso then over, or Salina, KS then down. That's a lot of extra driving. Take a look at this stretch. There's no getting to Sweetwater...
  3. Rivian Adventure Network - Deep Dive / Analysis (Four Corners region)

I just ran the numbers and as of now it's not possible to cross NW Colorado without stopping in Steamboat for a good charge. If you were driving from Denver, the last RAN charge point would be Silverthorne/Frisco which is 88 miles. After Steamboat, you'd have 162 miles to Vernal, which is no...
  4. Rivian Adventure Network - Deep Dive / Analysis (Four Corners region)

Right, that area up by Steamboat is a big miss in my opinion. For folks who have spent time there, they would know it's not only a nice destination in itself, it's a beautiful through-way toward Dinosaur, and northern Utah. Lots of "Adventure" possibilities up there. Steamboat area is one of our...
  5. Rivian Adventure Network - Deep Dive / Analysis (Four Corners region)

For sure - SE New Mexico and Texas Panhandle are underwhelming. That pass through Kayenta is a must-drive IF you want to hit Four Corners (which is a total tourist trap IMO, but you know with kids ya just gotta).
  6. Rivian Adventure Network - Deep Dive / Analysis (Four Corners region)

So, I may be a little Rivian obsessed... :) After the announcement of the RAN plan, I wanted to take a deep dive into the region where I live and play. I'm based in Denver, but have family in Arizona and Utah. Some common routes for me are: Denver to Phx (via Albequerque); Denver to Salt Lake...
  7. New Official Rivian Adventure Network and Charging Station Info

Here is an overlay of the RAN locations (rough as they are) overlaid on the Colorado map with the Colorado state park locations where the L2 chargers were reported by the Colorado Sun earlier today. It's clear to me that they are two different networks. Note these places in particular: - In the...
  8. 42 Rivian Adventure Network Charging Stations Announced For Colorado (Including All State Parks)

Here's a visual of the spread of CO state parks: (from https://cpw.state.co.us/placestogo/parks/Pages/ParkMap.aspx )
  9. 42 Rivian Adventure Network Charging Stations Announced For Colorado (Including All State Parks)

All state parks in Colorado will get electric vehicle charging stations in deal with EV maker Rivian "The project aims to install two Rivian Level 2 chargers, which would be universally compatible with all EV makes and models in the U.S., at each of Colorado’s 42 state parks..."...
  10. What will you name your Rivian?

We have a white VW E-Golf which we named Eva, after the sleek white Pixar character. The plan was to add a Tesla and name it Wall-E. But Rivian came along and knocked Tesla out of contention. So now I’m conflicted. Wall-E doesn’t quite feel right for a blue truck. But then again maybe it fits...
  11. R1T - Running, Brake, Signal, and Fog lights

I hope the controls for the back and front fog lights are separate. Sometimes front fog lights make it harder to see in the snow. But nice to have the extra rear red lights.
  12. R1T - Running, Brake, Signal, and Fog lights

These three screen shots from "The Long Weekend" (https://bit.ly/2OWG5Fi) clearly show the behavior of the brake lights and running lights. It seems that the running light across the tail gate does NOT light up when the brakes are pressed. But, the safety lights above the rear window do, and two...
  13. Cold Weather Testing | Progress Report | Rivian - Official Video

What can we deduce from this indicator that clearly says "54 mi." ?? - Probably 96 Miles per hour, rather than KM, though it's hard to believe you'd ever want to drive a truck on ice/snow at over 100mph. However, it's still possible for these tests that they are measuring distance (range) in...
  14. Leg Room R1T vs R1S

My .02 cents: I saw a post by @whyaskwhy - this link, page 15 - which lists the interior measurements of both the R1T and R1S. These were per an email from Rivian. I was happy to see that the measurements for the second row of seats (leg room, shoulder room, hip room...) are THE SAME for both...
  15. Rivian Configurator is Up For Reservation Holders! Share Your Build / Configuration Inside

Yeah, that's what I thought as well. What I'm interested to know is if there will be electrical connections and some sort of attachment system (bolt holes?) available for the gear tunnel so that I can fabricate my own camp kitchen. Maybe I'll sell them for $4000 :)
  16. Rivian Configurator is Up For Reservation Holders! Share Your Build / Configuration Inside

I would be shocked if the crossbars (and spare tire) are NOT extra $$. I mean the kitchen is $5k for heaven's sake! Up-sell for alternate wheels are steep as well. Rivian certainly knows about the art of the up-sale.
