Hi all, I did a couple of videos yesterday here in Denver on some pretty slippery roads. I was surprised (as were others) that it didn't perform as well as I expected. At one point, the SUV slid down into the gutter (no damage) just because I was stopped on a sloped road. Not great. This was on...
The max pack will certainly be a great addition, but I think you're ok with the large pack unless you really want to wait or if you tow long distances.
I put together this video over the last few days. I go through the whole vehicle from front to back (deep dives to come). I actually found a few new things myself doing this video. It really is a spectacular vehicle. Now on to the big question? R1T or R1S? Ugh. I can't go there just yet.
Thank...
Yes, I look goofy in this thumbnail image (or so says my wife) - but hey the morning sun was blasting in my eyes!
Double surprise at our Service Center visit yesterday. Not only were there seven R1Ss, but there was an R1T with the new Ocean Coast interior. So that tells me things are happening!
So, we took a trip to the Venice Hub last week so we could see the R1S! (My wife thinks we went for Disneyland. shhh.) We spent two full mornings with the R1S where the Rivian crew graciously left us alone for a couple of hours.
I brought a tape measure and measured EVERYTHING I could think of...
Hi all - Just wanted to post this wrap video of our drive over Rollins Pass (near Winter Park, CO) this weekend. This was organized by the Rocky Mountain Rivian Club. Good times. We had 11 R1Ts! We did have a sidewall puncture at pretty much the highest point of the drive, but thanks to the Pro...
Wow, sounds fun!
I'll be in Keystone the night before, actually. A few are coming up early from Denver. Only one that I know of will be staying the night in the area (Frasier).
Word is that it's a pretty mellow trail and we won't need to air down. I haven't done this trail before but fellow-organizer Ryan has several times and says it's a classic. I think the 22s will be fine. And, if you get in a pinch, for some reason, there will be other 22s on the trail. :)
For anyone in the greater Denver Area (or anyone who would like to trek over to join us!), RMRC is organizing a drive event next Saturday on Aug 6th leaving from the Winter Park Ski Resort parking lot. As of now, we already have about 6 R1Ts confirmed, so could be a big group. It's a mellow-ish...
Thanks. Yeah, I was hoping to get a test drive in that as well since they are just up the street from me. Also, I've been looking at the MDC USA Superlite which doesn't have a battery, but is lower profile and would sleep 4.
So, I've been on a hunt for a good trailer solution for a family. This one came to my attention and it is actually pretty sweet. Not cheap (at $65k) but the concept of electrification is interesting. The trailer carries 12kWh of juice (when fully charged) and can offload that to the truck at...
Hi all - Here are a couple of interesting interviews from the Salida event. I interviewed Trent Warnke - the Senior Director of Energy and Charging at Rivian - who talked about how the site came to be and some of Rivian's perspective on the network and what it means. He also tells me the...
