Thanks to all who joined us on Saturday. It was fun to see all the (privately owned) Rivians there! Four R1Ss as well. But, no LA Silver, if you can believe that.
If you're in the Rocky Mountain region, we'd love to include you in the next meetup invite!
I tend to agree with this philosophy - the ride differences seem to be more about wheel base than suspension so probably not going to change much.
But, in case I haven’t been clear enough in the past, let me say again: the R1S drives VERY WELL. Excellent I would say.
It’s a bit of a shame that...
Wish you were in Denver - we had a get together yesterday with 33 Rivians! (Video coming tomorrow) lots of options to see. I’m all in for glossy, but the matte does look cool.
Yes, glossy XPEL. Same for the R1T. I considered a stealth wrap but I like the reflection of the glossy finish - great for videos and photos. :) If you’re in Denver area, go to Denver Auto Shield. Tell them I sent you and they’ll give you a discount.
Ah, that makes more sense.
Here's a funny thing: when I first drove the R1S through a windy mountain pass just after taking ownership, I got really car sick. Note that I can get car sick practically standing still, so it's not really a surprise. But, I think it was partly because my body felt...
see my other reply.
As for form factor, they are very similar (same width) but the truck does feel longer.
I'm planning to do a proper side-by-side review as soon as I can get my head on straight. You know, kids, holidays... yikes.
Thx for watching!
I'm still chewing on this one. They do drive differently but not necessarily "better" or "worse," just different. The S has a noticeably tighter turning radius but also a bit more porpoising (wobbly front to back) but only compared to the T. If you compared it to pretty much any other SUV, it...
Hi All, we just wrapped up the final installment of our R1S Road Trip series. A lot of folks asked about some specific details, like charging and efficiency, so I tried to put together some info that addresses those questions. Overall, it was a great trip. The R1S is VERY road worthy and very...
I haven't swapped them. I decided to keep the 20s on the truck since I have a set of aftermarket 22s on the way. but I'll have to look into changing the computer.
Yeah, conserve changed the dynamics a lot. Much improved for around-town where you don't need the extra torque and don't want the back end to slip out.
First of all, thanks for your support and compliments. When I consider if the "juice is worth the squeeze" in all this YouTube world, it's nice to see a benefit to keep me going.
As for the 22s - they are not a snow tire. Full Stop. probably better than my skinny-tired road bike, but a far cry...
This is good to know as my confidence was a little shaken yesterday. However, driving around today gave me new confidence. Lots of times I pulled off to the side (in the powder) to let cars pass on a skinny road without hesitation, remembering my other car that would get bogged down in that...
