I agree with you wholeheartedly!
The reason I am pushing for info in this case is that I also have a pre-order with Electruck and they start shipping in 2 weeks. I have to cancel one of them.
I like EV sportline’s products, their customer service and their price, as a pre order holder, can’t...
The thing is though, with the running boards you guys were very forthcoming with the design process and progress, with the rock sliders it’s the complete opposite.
So I can’t help but feel that you guys are not far enough along to even share anything?
Again, if you don’t have a final product...
@EV Sportline I really like what you have done with the running boards, everything looks great and you really seem to put the customers first, however in the 50+ pages of this thread, we have not actually seen anything about the rocksliders.
- General design overview - we have seen the early...
To be fair, he says "EVs" in general, not Rivians specifically. I read some of the comments and someone posted "wondering if this is the same issue that fried so-and-so's mustang EV"
I had this same issue a few months ago. I checked all the connectors, they were fine. I contacted service and was, like the OP, given a date a few months out.
I drove to the SC and they were able to squeeze me in the next day. They have (make) room in their schedule for things that are not...
Nice!
So, just to make sure I am up to speed on the latest info - the part in the pic is not flush with the wood trim, because a top plate of tbd material will take that space, correct?
And the pucks will be under that material and therefor not visible? I personally don't mind either way...
Thanks for doing the legwork on all of this!
So when I look up all the parts, we are nearing $3k for this setup, that is pretty steep in my book.
Granted, these are Honda generators, which seem to last for a long time.
One would think that for that kind of money you could find one device/ unit...
@ElectrifiedOverland you said you ran yours at 80%, is that a rule of thumb? Does that mean that in this case the max running wattage is 2.4kwh? Is this to avoid overheating of the generator?
So with that scenario, 2.4kwh, what is the formula to figure out how many miles per hour the charge...
Applying CPR to this thread... All I see is rumors that Dometic wouldn't allow the cooktop to be used in an exposed outdoor environment, as they are meant for in-RV-installation.
You would think that Rivian had that as one of their requirements when they sourced the parts?
Either way, trying...
Nicely done! And the fob just lives in your center console? Or did you stick it to the dash somewhere?
Also, "4 channel control box", does that mean you can add more things to the same fob?
All the questions you have are addressed in the link that EV Sportline referenced. All of us that are interested in sliders/ running boards had to suffer through all 45 pages of it, so you should be cool like us :p
Electruck4x4 has a good read about it too, which is here...
So, since I know nothing about generators, for this particular purpose, can I use any generator, or is there a certain type of generator that is best suited to this task?
Since the OP used a inverter generator, I am guessing that is the preferred type.
That particular one is a 9500W one, which...
This is very interesting indeed! My friend’s bmw I3 has a 1 gal generator/ range extender built in and I love that idea of a safety net of sorts, in case you are in the boonies and decide you want to stay one more night to see where that one windy road in the map is leading to.
So I summon the...
Most likely for aiding in making the sides of the car more aerodynamic, and with that, reduce noise.
That said, with the sidesteps there, one can argue whether they still have value in that respect.
@EV Sportline So while the running boards are looking amazing, we haven’t seen much about the sliders at all. Any updates on those?
Especially now since there are a few other options being developed, it would be nice to see how your concept matured from CAD to reality, materials used etc, as...
I installed the 3D mats last week and I am curious if everyone’s rear mats came without clips? The front ones have clips, the rears just have domes to clear the posts?
The parts depicted are not (yet) the sliders, these are the running boards (side rails), and as such not meant to jack up the vehicle to begin with, so the fact that, in a pinch, you can, although probably not recommended/ warrantied, is good to see.
