  1. Caught red handed by Rivian Gear Guard - attempt to open my door and steal my bed racks

This is true. Police won't bother with this because they didn't break any laws. Touching someones car isn't illegal. To be honest, police around me don't care all that much for petty crime. Very little resources would go into an investigation if they stole your board. Craziest instance of...
  2. Cabin Heater Impacted Significantly by Outside Temp

Resistant heat is superior to waste engine heat. It's only 100% efficient but instant. Rivian needs to work on the logic and damper control. It forces full outside air with dumb logic so it's going to be cold.
  3. Cabin Heater Impacted Significantly by Outside Temp

In cabin temperatures seem to be accurate. It's the control logic like you mentioned that needs fixing. Rivian app shows interior temp even when driving. With mild temps (35-40°) cabin still showing 58° when set to 68° even after a decent drive.
  4. Any tests done on Vampire battery drain?

Vampire at 375 watts from charger for 10 hour period. (About 6.5% for 24 hours) Version 2022.47 Gear Guard Off Proximity Disabled Ambient 22°-26°F during 10 hour period
  5. 0°F Commute Efficiency

If you want efficiency. 1) Dress for the weather. ie Base layer, heated jacket, then down jacket, then overcoat- layer up. Insulated pants. Merino wool hat/balaclava. Merino socks. (I dress this way since I sometimes work outside) 2) Pre heat just the steering wheel and seat heater - No...
  6. Experience: Snow Mode is great on pavement w/ compact snow & ice, but All Terrain Mode is better for deep snow

When you say "all terrain" mode are you referring to "all purpose" or one of the "off road" modes?
  7. 2022.47.0 software update installed w/ SNOW MODE!

Only trick is waiting, unfortunately. P.S. Keep your truck connected to Wi-Fi when home
  8. 2022.47.0 software update installed w/ SNOW MODE!

This is the first update I'm truly itching to get. Look forward to testing Tidal vs Spotify and not sitting on ice when get into the truck with 0°F days in the forecast. Let us know if you doing any testing yourself with Tidal. Best Buy currently has 3-month family trial for $1.00...
  9. Battery Vampire Drain Test for R1T: 10 days parked unplugged = 1.2% per day loss.

This is 100% true. Any of our measurements stated in % for Rivian versus almost any other EV is going to favor the Rivian. It would be more accurate to state kwh but that's another conversion step.
  10. Battery Vampire Drain Test for R1T: 10 days parked unplugged = 1.2% per day loss.

My personal experience with Model Y and reports on forums is that there is no significant vampire losses on Teslas anymore. Sure if using cabin protection in Las Vegas you might experience similar drain, but your Tesla is not representative of the Tesla fleet whatsoever. Every Rivian has this...
  11. Charging time discrepancy being showed between vehicle display and phone app

Or your truck isn't turning off (door not closed/frunk not latched/etc) and you are wasting a ton of energy. I would actually look into that. What does your charger say it delivered? Your charger could have added 305 miles if your burned over 100 miles while sitting there. My app has always been...
  12. RIP - Powered Tonneau ?? (says Rivian engineer)

Is it not feasible to remove the motor and just let it be a manual push and pull? I'm guessing they have already tested Munro's suggestion of another motor on the other side. Munro suspected the pulling from one corner caused binding when the panels stopped traveling on the same gear spindle.
  13. Driver's side door squeaks opening and closing

It comes from the front bottom corner where the door trim rubs the rubber seal. Push in pieces. Wipe clean of debris. Spray with your PTFE Dry Lube you should have for your tonneau. Wipe excess. Takes less than a minute.
  14. Battery Vampire Drain Test for R1T: 10 days parked unplugged = 1.2% per day loss.

I'll trust the scientific studies done to determine this. It's less than 0.5% per month for storage losses. This thread is about the extreme vampire losses experienced with Rivians. Leave a F150 Lightning or Ioniq 5 for a month. Losses will be about what we lose in a day. This is not acceptable...
  15. Battery Vampire Drain Test for R1T: 10 days parked unplugged = 1.2% per day loss.

Storage loss on lithium batteries is extremely minimal. Talking less than 1/80th of 1 percent a day at 20°C and 1/60th of 1 percent at more extreme temps 45°C. It's a tiny tiny fraction of what our vehicles are consuming due to vampire power. Not even worth mentioning.
  16. Initial charging experience and Vampire drain

Vampire drain is horrendous even with most up to date software, all doors closed, proximity turned off, gear guard off. There is no way to avoid it at this time. It also gets progressively worse with ambient temperature the colder it gets. I was seeing around 4%+ loss per 24hr when temps dropped...
  17. Rivian battery size

New Hampshire has 2nd highest rates currently with only Hawaii edging them out (they do burn a lot of oil shipped over by ocean freight) - I think most Americans get closer to 12c and some utilities offer dirt cheap rates for TOU or EV rates.
  18. HVAC User Interface and Efficiency

This is how all our trucks are operating at the moment. Service can't do anything to fix it until they roll a software update to fix. It needs to just have another dedicated button for heat added and get rid of auto changeover as it doesn't work whatsoever.
