I noticed this evenings charging session stopped, then about 43 minutes later started again. When it finished it was at 71% (limit was set at 70%)
is this behavior normal? It’s only 78 F in my garage… why would it stop then overcharge?
this is only my 3rd time charging it, but the first time...
Well I just took it out on the highway and the wheel still shakes, no change from before the balance….
I would take it back but I don’t want them to damage my wheels anymore.
They use pucks and put them in the right holes…. Ha…
but they put it on 4 rolling jacks at the same time and took alll 4 wheels off at once. And rested the jack handles on the paint on 2 of them.
I got caught taking pictures and didn’t get one with all the wheels off, but it was concerning to see.
Picked up my R1S on Monday.
Did a test drive but didn’t get over 60 mph. Had 13 miles on it when I left.
as soon as I got on the highway the steering wheel started vibrating at 65 and got very bad at 75.
Rivian told me I could bring it to the SC in January for a balance… over 3 months to get...
EDIT: I’ve had a few old fashions…. So take this with a grain of salt…
Of course there is a gradient, but unless you drill a hole and insert a thermocouple then surface temp is the best you are gonna get. I am willing to bet it is close-ish in temp.
also, don’t conflate temperature with heat...
it won’t measure THROUGH anything, (especially glass or stainless steel) it will even measure the temperature of the REFLECTION in reflective surfaces sometimes.
It is really only good for measuring surface temperature and is most accurate for black bodies (matte black objects). The closer you...
Yeah I’m about 2.5 hours from Richmond. 188 miles (someone told me the limit was 200).
I have some little issues and I think I’m just going to deal with them because I don’t want the hassle of doing that trip.
That’s what that stain is!!! I couldn’t figure it out and I can’t get it to go away.
my stain isn’t on the nozzle, it’s on the black plastic trim right below it.
I just realized I didn’t answer your question… I love my flir one and they aren’t too expensive (in terms of thermal cameras). But watch out, the ones that plug into your phone are phone specific and with Apple changing their connector every couple years you could end up with an expensive...
borrow one from a friend. In the 6 years I have had mine I’ve probably used it 10 times. Not a great return on investment.
although if it really did discover a loose lug on my breaker and kept my house from burning down then maybe it was a great investment… I’m torn.
As mark mentioned, he reached out and is sending replacement foam/case.
I was too quick to jump to conclusions. When it comes to products poop happens its how you deal with it that matters.
JackPuck's handling of this has been spot-on, quick reply and resolution/followup.
10 out of 10, i...
its the case and foam inside and outside... maybe its the foam smell off-gassing? but it REALLY smells like cigar smoke to me. Not sure if the pucks themselves smell... but i assume i could just wipe them down with some IPA and they would be fine.
Maybe i got someone else's return and they...
so i just torqued both ends of the 6 ga.
The charger was ok (12 in-lb) the breaker bottom lug was ok, but the top lug was maybe 1/8th turn more to get back to the spec of 27 in-lb (stated on the side of the breaker).
I'll take another picture next week when I charge again to see if it is more...
I received the pucks from jackpucks.com last night and they smell like a cigar ashtray... has anyone else had this experience? It is really bad, i can't keep these in my car. My garage smells like cigar smoke with them just sitting on my work bench. Even my hands smell like it after handling...
I have the first gen Flir One. Got it back in 2017. Just plugs right into the phone charger port. They have one now that is wireless, which would be nice.
