You might be the first person I have heard with a legitimate reason for Max pack (unless we have some EV towers in here).
Depending on the roads/weather, just want to mention that 240 round trip will probably take closer to 280-295 miles+ of your estimated range figure (as i'm sure you know...
I've got a quad motor. Before this I too had a 4Runner, with a 2-3" lift with some slightly larger KO2s. No locking diff, but ATRAC.
I took that 4Runner everywhere, and it performed fantastically. The one area where the Rivian can't quite match is rock crawling, and only in the 0RPM torque...
A group of friends and I took a roadtrip out to Sedona a couple weeks ago. It's been a good 20+ years since I have been there. The views, trails and camping are fantastic!
Made a video of the trip here:
I was that guy in the blue R1T that showed up when you all were on your way out. Pretty funny getting into the trail to see so many Rivians out there!
Made a video of my trip, there's a few shots of this Rivian crew on Broken Arrow!
If you’re talking about the Laurel lake trail, the roughest part is actually the first half that isn’t filmed at all here. I’m not sure if it’s always been that rough but it’s probably a 4 or a 5 right now.
I have a Mavic 3, and I was actually flying while driving. Active track doesn’t work far away enough to get the views I wanted to I had to fly it.
In this video I use active track more.
well, yeah they’re M/Ts! I can’t afford that big of a range hit for most of my adventures, so I’m stuck with ATs. Likely swapping with KO3s when these are shot.
Coyote flats is an awesome trail. It’s been closed all year but excited to get back up there next season.
Sounds quite conservative. I've gone much lower when i'm in the dunes without issues (famous last words).
I'm probably over 1,000 miles off road and haven't had any issues in the mid 20's outside of dunes trips.
We camped halfway up the trail at about 8,700 feet. The lake is at about 9,700 and the trailhead is something like 7200.
Yeah it wasn't too cold. I think mid 50's. There was a lot of thunderstorms rolling through so that kept temps on the warmer side actually.
Yeah that last switchback is tight. My buddy in the Raptor had to take a few cuts at it, the Rivian with the cameras and pretty good turning circle made quick work of it.
I can't wait to burn these Pirellis out and swap them for some BFGs. Had them on my previous 4Runner and they were flawless...
I've got 20"s not 21"s. Yup, aired down ~25psi.
Battery loss is very minimal, maybe 15 miles worth? I have an external battery I use at camp so I don't have to run the inverter in the truck for fridge etc. I'll post a video about that in the near future as there's a lot of details I have worked...
Hey team,
Posted a few videos of recent adventures with the Rivian. Take a look and let me know what you think.
We’ve got big ambitions for the channel, so follow along if you want to see more.
I took a huge chunk out of the sidewall on my tire this last weekend off-roading.
Looking for a replacement, doesn't need to be brand new takeoff.
SoCal area.
