Yes, I do have a stored payment in Rivian app. Actually, Rivian handled the payment even though the charge was initiated from Tesla app.
Also, I just read the manual and watched the A2Z adapter review video and realized the locking tab indeed is manual....... Well, lesson learned: always read...
Just tried the A2Z adapter I got and plug and charge didn't work (several tries). I had to initiate the charge from Tesla app. Also, the A2Z adapter is really hard to push in and had to manually move the locking tab.
Just received my A2Z adapter and went to nearby Tesla supercharging station to test it out. Although I was aware the adapter might be tight, I was still surprised how hard I had to push the A2Z adapter. I was unable to get it to click (lock) automatically so I had to manually move the locking...
I have the same noise and was told that is the sound of hydraulic fluid flowing through valve so normal. Initially I found the sound annoying but gradually got used to that over time.
It is gonna take Rivian a while to send adapters to everyone, esp. R1S owners.
On the other hand, if you want to order a A2Z adapter, be prepared for at least 1 month of waiting. I ordered mine 4 weeks ago and still haven't got mine, despite a UPS label was created several days ago.
with recent shipping delay from Ford NACS adapters, I don't think I will receive the adapter from Rivian any time soon (Vin > 20k) so I just ordered A2Z adapter. At the worst, I can still use A2Z adapter as a backup.
I started to accept the fact that my R1S is just a noisy vehicle.
I took it to service center once and they fixed the rattling in the 2nd row door panel. There are still some random rattling hard to pinpoint. A few places I found are: flashlight holder, some plastic rubbing in 2nd row seats...
I feel recent years have seen increasingly more unhappy or angry people out there who could easily be triggered. Just be careful when drive around or park. Sorry to see OP's loss.
It is certainly a bad experience with a brand new vehicle, and I would be very unhappy as well if I were in such situation. That being said, I would say you give Rivian another chance to fix the vehicle. My new R1S quad had drive unit fluid leak within 2000 miles and I was not happy but Rivian...
I just watched your video again and still couldn't hear anything abnormal. It sounds similar to my quad R1S, at least based on the recording you posted.
Personally, I found R1S is rather noisy so probably we just have to live with that.
Just picked up my R1S from service center. They replaced drain plug, then drained and refilled fluid for front drive unit. All good now but will need to see how the reliability looks like in the long term.
