Exactly. The non-over-engineered solution would be just to provide a backup physical key.
FWIW, my wife's Cayenne has the 12V battery under the passenger's feet which was easy to get to since her keyfob had a physical backup key.
When my 8 month old R1S 12V failed, jumping it only resulted in...
Yet another, "I wish..." post for something that's worked great since last December. ;-)
No need to wait for Wassym to continue to waste expensive software engineering resources to reinvent the AA/ACP wheel. No Connect+ subscription necessary. #ItJustWorks...
Actually, y just discovered this very issue last night when we arrived at our vacation destination to OBX on our first Rivian road trip which I thought I had planned out well in advance. I knew about V3+ requirements but I didn't bother to check the Tesla nor ABR app until I went to use it. SMH...
I just had 4 installed to replace my original Pirelli's after 13 months and 33.5k miles; I probably could have gotten another 3k-5k miles out of the Pirelli's but we have our first road trip coming up and we're going to be loaded for bear. ?
So far I love the Michelins and have always gotten...
The tinted roof glass cracking is just a myth. The only cases I could find was for inferior cheap glass w/o any UV protection which is not the case for Rivians or any other OEM roof glass now-a-days.
Another great thing about the EVSportLine product is the removable reflector layer which gives...
Last summer, I spent $1,500 getting XPEL PRIME XR PLUS based tint on ALL my R1S glass as dark as possible: 70% on roof and rear windows, 45% front row glass (MD law permits 25%), 5% windshield. and it helped a lot; however, I just ordered the EVSportLine 2 piece set since it comes w/ the clips...
Interesting, but my wife already pulled the trigger on this one after she cancelled the other one: https://teamk9.com/products/hard-bottom-csce?variant=42156188532835.
Thanks for the recommendation though. I'll keep that one in mind in case we get strike 2. ;-)
Not sure how you can get better than the Yakima EXO System given it's modularity and diverse set of options. See the following for details:
Yakima EXO System is the best swing away cargo hitch-based solution for my R1S
Agreed on the camp kitchen affordability, since it would take a helluva lot of camping meals to get your ROI, but at least the Yakima EXO System in general is a great multi-purpose modular versatile tow-hitch based system for much more than just a camp kitchen and much better cargo solution than...
EVSportline has a tow-hitch based system (Yakima EXO System OpenRange Deluxe Camp Kitchen Bundle) that fits any vehicle w/ a 2" tow hitch receiver which is basically a modified Yakima EXO OpenRange System.
See the following for a review and demo of the versatility of the Yakima EXO OpenRange...
Try a *real* Bluetooth speaker like the Bose S1 Pro+ Portable Bluetooth Speaker System and you'll kick that p.o.s. camp speaker to the curb like the rest of us! ;-)
Actually, I'll just settle for 1) a *real* leather, 2) a sun/moon roof that actually opens/closes by a push of a button as well as a shade to go w/ it, and 3) a *real premium* sound system; otherwise, you can keep your pleather, glass roof, and p.o.s. speakers incl. the over-engineered...
Well, it's solid and I drive it in Sport mode 100% of the time so I didn't really find it bouncy.
And unlike the reviewer, I didn't have the bike rack component and RVs are a much diff suspension than an R1S esp. in Sport mode.
We shall see but I was a lot more confident in my diesel Excursion which had much higher sidewalls.
In general though, I hate the perpetual traffic jam getting up there and back so I tend to avoid the area.
Just hoping I get the NACS adapter by then since the public charging options look slim...
Again, depends upon what you put on the top shelf. Worst case rear visibility-wise is the Gear Locker on the top shelf which blocks your entire rear window but you can turn on the rear camera which is obstructed by the vertical beam but you can still see good enough to back in a parking space...
Considering the height of the woman in the video, I in the video I don't think it would be a problem especially not at R1S lowest ride height, but it's dead simple to switch top and bottom EXO components either way.
