The point was that the current system is not a dedicated heat pump. Your original reply seemed to imply that you didn't know the difference between how the current system works vs having a dedicated system.

You do realize that it's not a dedicated heat pump right? Big difference. To keep things simple, if you were to refer the current battery heating (only while driving) as a passive method (not as efficient), that is very different than having a dedicated heat pump to pre condition.
